West Ham 1 Plymouth Argyle 0

A gutsy Plymouth beaten in the 91st Minute by Deano with a Magnificent volley from 20 yards to smash in the winning goal.

 Deano celebrates his winning goal

The Hammers pressurised Plymouth from the off but couldn’t find a clear cut chance to score.

The England hopeful made it three goals in three games since recovering from a broken ankle, and with Emile Heskey and Michael Owen out injured, is putting forward a strong case to be named in Steve McClaren’s next squad.

Fit-again Scott Parker was finally given his West Ham debut following his £7million move from Newcastle in the summer, while fellow internationals, Freddie Ljungberg, Luis Boa Morte, James Collins, Danny Gabbidon and Richard Wright were also handed starts.

Not the score i predicted, but Plymouth would not feel out of place in the Premiership, a good attacking team with good flare.

I wish them well in the quest to get promoted.

Ashton is again showing he’s a class act but I hope he’s kept waiting a bit more for England by developing into the top scoring striker in the premier.
I would like to see Collins given a place ahead of the all to casual Anton.

I have to agree with you Redkipper. Maybe a few more games before Ashton is 100% ready for such a big jump, i should think even he knows that!
As for Anton.. I went to see My daughters team Gillingham Ladies play Enfield Ladies last night at Chatham Town Football club, and my Daughter plays same position as Anton, but she would fair much better for WHU than Anton does, He reminds me of Rio in his attitude, like the team wouldnt exist without him, i hope this attitude changes, but like his family said they would truly be more happy if he played alongside Rio one day, then he will have to up his performance before that could happen, or sooner or later the guy will be playing for Plaistow!

I will not have the good name of Plaistow abused in this way! ;-)
