West Ham UTD unfairly give KUMB.com marching orders!

 kumb_logo.jpg

KUMB.com (Knees Up Mother Brown) without doubt is one of the worlds most influential football supporter websites, attracting 1000’s of readers and commentors a day.

There was a day this when KUMB.com forums mention this weblog (C’Mon Yu Irons)  and i received over 6000+ unique visitors.

West Ham UTD have decided that KUMB are no longer required at the post match press conference’s.

For 4 years KUMB had been given the honour of attending, and taking notes on the speeches given, but at the Sunderland match they were told their services were no longer required, and then given various excuses from Miranda Nagalingam about the reasons why!, 1 of these being, ESPN Soccernet was bitching about dozens of free-loading tourists filling the press box.

ESPN Soccernet!! “Who are you?”, “Who are you?”.

If every reader of KUMB.com (a large majority of the fans that attend home matches) sends WHUFC an email, we may get KUMB back at the conferences, and given the respect they deserve.

Worrying - and following on from the exorcising of the OLAS team from access to the club’s players and hierarchy.
Strikes me that the author of the article is being overly magnanimous in his assertion that the new owners have done much to build the bridges between the club and the fans. I cannot really see the evidence for this claim from my standpoint…
The club create a sanitised, overly professional and commercialised approach to WHUFC at a considerable risk, it seems to me. I see it as the next step on the journey to attempt the creation of a 60000 prawn sandwich munching £60000 a year salaried middle class WHUTV subscribing WHUFC credit card owning bond holding compliant and polite middle class fans. I’m not sure they’ll exorcise the prolls that easily tho; thank the Lord!
