Portsmouth v West Ham Preview

Pedro Mendes returns in midfield for Portsmouth who are without Sean Davis at home to West Ham through a one-match ban for five yellow cards.Manager Harry Redknapp is ready to send out an otherwise unchanged team against his former club with Benjani, literally, his lone striker after David Nugent (groin) joined Kanu (knee) in the treatment room after Tuesday’s reserve match.

Midfielder Richard Hughes starts a three-match ban after being sent off in a reserve game two weeks ago and defender Linvoy Primus, who scored twice at West Ham last season, is still recovering from a summer knee operation.

West Ham are once again without Scott Parker for their televised Premier League trip to face Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Saturday evening.

The £7million midfielder is still feeling the knee ligament injury which has limited him to just two starts since joining the Hammers.

Freddie Ljungberg is struggling with a calf injury and Dean Ashton, Bobby Zamora (both knee), Kieron Dyer (broken leg), Julien Faubert (Achilles), James Collins (calf) and Calum Davenport (groin) are all out.
