West Ham - 2 Steps forward 3 Steps back!
A fellow author of this blog, and also a very passionate Hammers fan/supporter, namely The Headmaster has made a good point in general, about the tactics used in Wednesdays game against Reading.
Headmasters Comment
“It really was atrocious Joe. We were negative, lacked creativity, lacked fitness in one or two key areas even. We often defended corners and free kicks with 11 men - at one point we had all 11 inside our own box!!
9th place flatters us big time and you are right to point out the woeful performances of the likes of Newcastle and Blackburn as far as our falsely elevated league status is concerned - tho clearly we do have the ability to play away, and with some panache. The home form is desperate - nothing short of this. Even the 2 victories there were lucky.”
It has to change Joe, and it aint just down to injuries mate - no way. The clock is ticking for AC big style…….
I want to add further to what i, as well others, believe what is wrong with our club at present.
It seems sometimes that i have a grudge against Curbs, but that is not so, I want the best for my team like i do my kids, it means the world to me that West Ham succeed.
I, like you and 1/2 a million worldwide fans of West Ham watch in pain, as we throw away, what should have been an easy win.
while we are in a good position in the table, maybe its now, that some type of investigation is going on, into why?, there are injuries after injuries, and also if Curbs has the know how and skill to push our team forward, we do have a good squad, not the best, but a squad that can get us up to the top 6, but there is a consistency of failures, mainly in passing, possession, and tactics, by tactics, i mean from the 1st minute to the 90th minute of the game, where we should have a game plan, on who does what and where and at what point, where a need for a substitute is done at the right time and with the right player.
The Spurs board did the unforgivable, and got rid of Matrtin Jol for this reason, and i can guarantee a months wages there is talk of Curbs going, i cant say when, but it will happen.
To me, and i have said it many times in previous posts on here, the guy does not have the quality & skill to push West Ham
to where we want them to be.
Its fine for Curbs to say in after-match comments
” i was as frustrated as the fans about the result,”
Curbs mate, it doesn’t cost you like 2 days wages to get to the game and watch it. if it did, maybe you would get better results.
WOULDNT IT BE NICE TO HAVE 11 PLAYERS, WHO PLAY LIKE TROJANS TO WIN, INSTEAD OF JUST 2 OR 3 EACH GAME.
Thx Dave for your comment.
