Chelsea: Frank Lampard Jnr: Its Silly Really, Forgive & Forget

Frank Jnr, is speaking of his frustrations, when he meets West Ham fans, on & off the pitch.

In a charitable meeting with some Cancer Kids, he spoke of his frustration how he is perceived by opposing fans:-

“Some don’t like me, some like me. Rivalry is what we love football for so I don’t expect a West Ham or Arsenal fan to have a great love for me. But if they do meet me I am sure they will think, ‘Actually, he’s a decent bloke’.”

The abuse he receives is particularly spiky at his alma mater, Upton Park. “I get lots of stick when I play at West Ham. It has definitely gone on too long. I don’t think it will ever go. When you step on to the pitch you step out of reality and into this football world where people will call you anything - and then afterwards ask for your autograph for their kid.

“I have been in cancer wards and seen lots of West Ham fans with their families. I have tried to help them and had a great relationship with them. I have met West Ham fans in the street, and cabbies who are as good as gold. Then I walk out at Upton Park and they want to kill me. I used to get really angry with it - and at times I still do - but then I sit back and laugh. It’s silly really.”

So is it time to forgive and forget?

you get what you give i’m afraid. the lack of respect he paid to west ham fans in the past… what does he expect. you just have to look at the heros reception joe cole gets when he plays back at west ham. standing ovation every time!

I met frank once, in kensington, he gave me his autograph, i told him i was a hammers fan, he said he hoped west ham get into europe this season coz they deserved it, i was flabergasted, and he does seem a genuine guy, im gonna forgive him, what did he do wrong anyway?

to be honest it was us who got on his back for not performing for us….. (like Carlton)and he then left and started playing well. i wouldnt have been surprised for him to hate us after the way we sang “im dreing of a frank lampard” yes he is a git towards us sometimes but its just pent up aggresion. not saying it was all us buti think it is time to let the lions sleep and maybe hell give a slight clap next time we face him…. maybe all the shit will go between hammers fans and him ???? worth a try ??

Reading the responses to this, I understand why the atmosphere at football grounds is shit nowadays. Because it’s pussified fans who don’t believe in the banter that we all started going to football for, because getting an autograph from someone proves they’re a decent bloke. Please, stop going to Upton Park. You’re a waste of space, you can hear a pin drop in there nowadays because of you lot.

is he trying to use the Charity thing to gain sympathy, all he has to do is applaud the hammers suppoters before the game starts, surley its better to be liked than disliked.
ill for give him when he runs to east stand and applauds

    Terry:
