England call Tomkins and Sears

From the WHUFC Website
James Tomkins and Freddie Sears have been named in the England squad for May’s qualifying round for the 2008 European Under-19 Championship.
The Young Lions need to overcome mini-tournament hosts Belarus, Serbia and Poland to be one of the eight nations competing in the final round in the Czech Republic this July. England will play Poland first in Borisov on 26 May, before meeting Serbia two days later in the same venue. The qualifying campaign will end against Belarus in Minsk on 31 May.
The final tournament will take place between 14 and 26 July, and should England get there then fellow West Ham United players Jordan Spence, still only 17, and Junior Stanislas will also fancy their chances of earning a place in the final squad. Both have also figured for the U19s this season and will only Read more England call Tomkins and Sears

Slaven Bilic Rumour Man City or West Ham?
We all know that Sven is probably leaving Man City after his last game next week, and according to The Independent it seems the City Chairman is showing an interest in Bilic as the new potential manager.
In a recent Poll on Cmonyuirons.com , 76% of West Ham supporters voted for Bilic to be West Ham’s new manager.
Listening to TalkSport, i do know that the Man City Fans are furious with the Chairman even considering getting rid of such an Elite manager as Sven, even to the fact some supporters have threatened not to renew their season tickets.
The independent said:
The Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra is already seemingly preparing a replacement for the club’s manager Sven Goran Eriksson – with the Croatia coach, Slaven Bilic, and Portugal’s Luiz Felipe Scolari contenders – having, it is alleged, resolved to sack him at the end of the season.
Eriksson’s assistant at City, Tord Grip, confirmed yesterday what was becoming increasingly apparent when he said that he and Eriksson were probably to be dismissed.
“It’s probably true what they say,”
Grip told the Swedish paper Aftonbladet.
“Why? Well, they probably think that the job we have done is not good enough. They think we have done a bad job.
“We believe we have done a good job,” he added. “But I don’t think the owner has shown enough patience. This has happened so fast. That’s what this is all about – patience.”

In, out, shake it all about!
Silly season has already begun and the usual amount of transfer rumours are in full flow, with some that might have some credibility and others straight out of the beano comic, And players going in their droves from our club.
Rumours are already suggesting Dean Ashton is leaving, and the old rumour of Green going to Arsenal keeps popping up, with also a mass clearance of players that resembles a clearance sale at MFI.
I personally don’t think Green or Ashton are going anywhere, but there is confirmation that there will be a clearing of players.
My reckoning is that Read more In, out, shake it all about!

World Club Rankings Top 25
1. Manchester United (Eng) (1) – Played road games against the numbers two and three teams in the world last week and couldn’t come away with a victory. Did manage a road draw against Barcelona, which is always a good Champions League result, but did not score a goal, which could come back to haunt them. Fell 1-2 to Chelsea to fall even, but they still hold the advantage in the Premiership, so they still hold the advantage here. In addition to the Barcelona rematch this week, host West Ham United on Saturday to maintain their domestic league.

The Deuce linked with West Ham!
We are at the stage where rumours of possible transfers take centre stage in the media, and the usual
tabloids turning out to be the most unrealistic.
An article from Sportingo had me intrigued which could actually turn to fact if Fulham are relegated.
NEXT YEAR’S FORECAST
Rumours and whispers are rife that Blackburn, West Ham, and Newcastle have all taken a peak at Clint Dempsey. Judging by Newcastle’s patience with Onyewu Martins last season, he might be better with a move to West Ham, where countryman Jonathan Spector has already made a home with his favourite manager. Outside of Friedel, Blackburn have shown little favour for American field players.
It seems that BG will be tightening his purse strings in the summer transfer window and i cant imagine Curbs and Nani buying any Elite named players, so, the Deuce would be a great signing for the Hammers.
Nani’s mission is to find young players from around the world that will fit into the Academy and grow to become stars of the future, then saving West Ham Read more The Deuce linked with West Ham!

West Ham a Perennial Bogey: Man Utd & Chelsea Title Race
By Rooster
On Saturday at 12:45pm West Ham face Manchester Utd at Old Trafford, the game will be watched with great interest from the Chelsea camp and the Chelsea Fans whom will have to wait until the following Monday at 4pm to play their game at St James park against Newcastle.
Reminded of United’s fearsome goal difference which makes the title winnable even after a defeat to Chelsea yesterday, Ferguson said to the Indepenent that “you cannot go into the game thinking you have some leeway.” No doubt he is perhaps mindful that West Ham, a perennial bogey team at the season’s end, will be at Old Trafford after Barcelona have left. Impressive - West Ham 2-2 Newcastle (Video Highlights)
By Rooster
I was impressed with West Ham in the first 41 minutes until bad defending let in The Toons 1st goal.
West Ham and Newcastle played out a see-sawing, if largely meaningless, end-of-season 2-2 draw. West Ham went 2-0 up inside 25 minutes through Mark Noble and Dean Ashton. By half-time it was all square, Obafemi Martins pulling one back and then Geremi deflecting the equaliser in with his shoulder.
Ashton could have made it 3-2 near the end but a great save from Harper gave the Toons a well deserved point.

Prove him wrong
By Dave
Steve Harper has said, ‘We’ll try and turn the home fans on their backs by having a quick start and getting the first goal’. Although I’m not happy with the recent performances on the pitch, I don’t think booing the players tomorrow will do us any good, so it’s up to us to get behind our team and prove Harper wrong. There will be a few old faces from the toons playing against them, with Solano and Parker both up for the game, so this will be interesting to see; and even more so if either of them score against their old club. Ive got a feeling we’ll start the game with a lot of fire, and if us fans can raise the roof instead of booing, who knows, we might even take this game. Hope I’m not proven wrong. Prediction: 2-1 West Ham.
