Behrami – Earn it you Moron!

Im in a WEATHER strop today!!
Valon Behrami is not interested in joining West Ham because he wants Champions League football next season.

What makes Behrami think that any club that has a Champions League spot next season will want him? and how about he earns a club the right to be playing in the CL, Lazio finished 12th, so he didnt really do much to help that team.

His stats are about the same as most Midfielder’s in the Premier League.

I dont even like to see West Ham linked to his name, in fact same goes for Shorey, and Johnson, what we have already, when fit will be better than those 3 anyway. wont they?

couldn’t agree more mate …  Lanzafame … now thats a different matter.  get that boy in as he would really like to wear the C & B.

Good post, im getting sick of being linked to morons or out of date players who once had the chance to join us but DIDNT, Berhami your not welcome, Lanzafame, mendes, i would welcome anyday

  • Joe says:

your right. post amended, hes still not welcome, Its Switzerland not Brazil

  • Matt says:

Good! We don’t want Johnson! He’s a liability, a very overrated, over paid one at that! And to be completely honest, I am looking forward to getting Bellamy back in action but I WON’T be totally gutted if Ashton leaves! I like the man but at the end of the day he’s not THAT great a player and if his heart isn’t here, then let him go! We had to with the likes of Defoe etc…BG has publically stated there will be no big (excpensive in other words) signings this summer! So apart from Lanzafame, who will be a great signing if we can get him, maybe Saha and Carr if they happen will be a worth while consideration to get us out of the mid leagues and into the upper half of the top of the table which is where a club like West Ham should be! Just my tuppence worth!

It is true that we need a top class central midfielder to play alongside Scott Parker but we already have Dyer and Ljungberg to play there if pushed and I don’t think this guy  could kiss their boots. If he was good enough to play in the champions league someone would have invited him by now! I would be happy to sign Shorey but not Johnson, we can do much better than that!

Rumours and more runours, always intrested in those with substance but this one clearly hasn’t. My bet is that Nani was brought in to find young talent on the cheap and develope, low wages and low transfer value, a few of the big players to leave to cut the wage bill, llundberg, Mullins, Boa Morte, Spector, Pantsill,Cole, Zamora, Solano, Quashie, Reid, Davenport, Daily,Gabbidon and hopefully Neil. A young and pacy right back, someone with flair in midfield, a young left back and a new striker to compete with Ashton, Bellamy and Sears. In summary 14 out cutting the wage bill by approx, 300,000 per week yes that 15milion a year, replaced with 4 players circa 60,000 a week saving net 12 million this year. Take in a few pay rises, Ashton and we still have a god sized squad and save 10 million quid pa. This then gives us the option come January to strengthen if necessary. We also have to keep in mind that if all players remain fit we have a pretty strong squad who will only be unhappy at not getting a game. The three young lads are likely to be joined by another couple anyway, seems Stokes has his shooting boots on at the moment to name one.Starting team for next year for me, Ashton and Bellamy upfront, Faubert, Dyer, Noble, Parker and Etherington in a 5 man midfield awith Upson, Ferdinand and Collins as a back three, all have height and a little pace, with support from a 5 man midfield at home should be OK, switch to four man for away games and bring in Mccartney to balance with Collins and faubert helping right back position.

Simon, I agree with most of what you said, except…….. A 3 man defence? Not gonna happen in my opinion, home OR away! Why? Simply that the standard of striker in the premiership at the moment is very strong, infact stronger than it has been in a long time! To name but a few, Tevez, Drogba (if he stays), Torres, Owen, Martins etc… and the quality of attacking midfielders is very strong too! (dare I mention Ronaldo?)Why not keep Neil (yes I like him) and part company with Dyer instead? That, with the rest of the players you mentioned (APART FROM FERDINAND, COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE) would make for a pretty good starting eleven, if they can stay fit! (and unfortunately at the moment that is a very BIG if) :) Just my opinion :) Matt

Matt, I deliberated over ferdinand myself, he always seems to make 1 critical mistake per game but something inside me thinks if we sell him will only get 5m and then miraculously he will turn into the best young defender in the country and we will all kick ourselves as another lost talent. As part of next campaign, i presume, probably wrongly, that Curbs has noticed this and our general poor aerial defensive qualities and as such will bring in a dedicated defensive coasch to work with the guys.Neil also seems to have this habbit of making mistakes at the wrong time but more importantly i feel he upsets the status quo re salaries, he is here for the money and that just isn’t acceptable. if we get rid now we have a chance of getting some of our money back and cutting the wage bill. The rumour i heard last year was that Johnson wanted to come back but ferdinand put a block on it. He did go of the rails as any young guy earning 50k a week at Chelsea would but Harry R seems to of got the best from him. Harry is now rumoured to be leaving Pompy so maybe a good time as you say to get shot of ferdinand and neilI agree that when we play top 6 teams we may need to adjust but the owness at home should be on attack and noble in midfield has plenty of energy to play almost as a sweeper, old fashioned I know.Dyer, although unproven is one of the few players i see that has the ability to open defences from midfield if he is fit and act as support from midfield in away games. If you create a diamond in midfield with Noble sweeping, parker holding the middle this will allow Dyer freedom to support whilst keeping our wings safe with Faubert helping at the back as well as going forward, young bloke on 40k a week should have plenty of energy. Nuts and bolts I suppose I would rather lose 6-5 than grind out a 1-0 win,(not every week of course,) if i wanted that i would support Arsenal of old. My thoughts and I actually moved to Australia in November so I only get to see the TV now  and that never paints the full picture. (did go every week before hand for 15 years so not taliking completely from Arse)

Simon, Thanks for the reply mate!
To me it’s not really the how many mistaked Mr ferdinand makes, it’s his attitude! Sometimes (probably about 30 % of the time) I look at him and think, yeah he’s doing well! But the rest of the time, Il ook at him and I think to myself….what are we doing with him!As far as Curbs noticing how our aerial offense is, I wouldn’t bank on it mate! As a Charlton manager I really liked him, but as our manager, I can’t wait to get rid of him! Ok that might sound a bit harsh and even to myself it counds a bit mean but I just think he has run his course!
You mentioned Harry R was RUMOURED to be leaving Pompey! I have also heard this! It might be true, it might not (personally I think not) but if he was to leave, I would LOVE him back at the Boleyn! Do you disagree?I totally agree though, that losing 6-5 would be MUCH better than scraping and fluking a 1-0 win and DEFINITELY better than three 4-0 defeats on the trott! lolYou mention that Neil is here for the money! Maybe he is! But if you look at teams like Chelsea and ManU, I would say 80% of players are there for the money! If we want to be a big team, I think we will have to accept that a lot o players will join us for the money! :) And maybe at the time, Neil thought we were about the be bigger than we are right now! (it was, after all just after the takeover) :)
So you are in Oz now eh??? Nice one! Nice to chat mate! If you ever wanna chat you can email me at Niteflyer75@gmail.com
    Cheers
    Matt

Matt and Simon thank you so much for your informed and interesting discussion particularly regarding Ferdinand who in my view we should sell now at the right price, maybe his lapses in concentration will always be part of his game in which case he is no good to us and if he does sort this problem out at another club-then that’s life.

  • simon purser says:

maybe a vote then re Ferdinand and what price, as long as it is not to the Spuds although I can’t see him even thinking about that. Who replaces him, Dunn had a good season bu not sure if he is too similar to Upson and the young lads should not be rushed, I stil feel Collins has most to offer, fast, good in the air and can actually play

  • John says:

Agreed. Lanzafame would be great if it comes off and Sidwell could add something to our injury plagued midfield. ALtho, my 1st choice midfield would be Noble & Parker even though they leave us a little bit short/small in that area. Let Dire (oops, Dyer…. or was I correct the first time?) go, along with LBM (didnt agree with the stick that he got, but he was very poor) and Solano (still good with dead-ball but his passing was generally poor and he’s past his best IMO). Then get some younger wingers in the side to cover FL/ME/JF.What does everyone honestly think of Tomkins? Seems to have a habit of making BIG mistakes that cost goals. Can he get past this? At the moment he’d be my last choice defender in our current squad. SPeaking of which, lets ditch Collins (alwyas injured when we need him even tho he looks good when he plays) and Davenport (could have been a great player for us if he’d stayed first time around, but seems shot confidence-wise now).

  • logicz says:

Tomkins is a young prospect. I’d rather he made mistakes now than later on in his career and i think he knows that too. Personally I’d have Zamora,  Bowyer, Camrara, Davenport, Solano, Neill, 1 of Collins or gabbidon (both injury prone)Boa Morte, maybe Etherington etc. Gone. This Lanzafame guy looks good and he rejected palermo in the hope of coming to us so hopefully that comes off. However i dont think Curbs should have any control over transfers whatsoever if you believe what you hear in the papers and on TV. Gianluca Nani was brought in to oversee the transfer policy and find brightest young talent in the world so why are we still being linked with Stephen Carr, Andy Johnson, El Hajdi Diouf and Louis Saha?? Rejects from other premier league sides ain’t gonna work if we are to push forward.A right -Back, left back, left winger and a striker is needed to strengthen the squad and young talent at that… We’ll be a force to be reckoned with next year.

It seems to me that the only reason we keep getting linked to these Uk based players ,has beens, is that journalists are lazy and have no real relationship with decesion makers within the clubs. Agents are only too ready to leak unfounded speculation in order to stimulate interest in their clients, these paracites cause far more harm than good in the game and the soner the FA provides good quality advise to players the sooner we can rid ourselves of these paracites. Surely a registrigation figure based on earnings would be sifficient to ensure all players have access to tax and other financial advise, external consultants can still be used but barred from player contract negotiation,An easier system would be for a central web site only accessed by managers where they can list players on the site they are looking to sell and the price, this will be driven by players requests or agreed terminations of contracts. They could even post the players salary expectations. Manager could then search by position and see what is available and if nobody takes their fancy leave it at that. You could still list sales prices of players that do not want to leave but as always over inflate and see if any mugs, Chelsea, are willing to stump of the cash. This would alleviate the need for the Mr 10% ers.and most of the unfounded crapOn other matters I pretty much agree with the departures but would add Llundberg, his salary just upsets every other player especially as most weeks he has a headache sorry migrain, and can not play, miraculously recovering from the headache to be seen out at expensive clubs, ferrari in tow, to the early morning. We have to accept that BG has woken up to the wage bill, cost of running a UK Premiership club and wants to cut costs, especially if he has to invest in a new stadium, that wont happen with big name signings, Nani has therefore the remit to look for young, loaned or cheap players and further develop the youth team for the short term. Curbishly understands this which is why he was not sacked, any new big name manager coming in is going to want 20+million to rebuild the team and BG won’t spend that.My thoughts anyway
