Could this be True? Curbs out - Harry In? Portsmouth - West Ham
May 16, 2008 West Ham News
By Frank Williams
We have all heard some rather strange and wonderful rumours in the last week or so, could this 1 be any worse?
I received a comment on a recent post
The Comment said:-
If nobody has heard the rumours yet then let me be the first to start the ball rolling. Curbs is waiting for the chop. all the chairman is waiting for is the manager we all want to make his mind up before he leaves….. lets hope he wins the FA cup to sign off from pompy on good terms. Harry is on his way back watch this space.
I cant see Harry leaving Pompy, but then BG does work in mysterious ways.
Crap Rumour or a Possibility?

It could be possible, He recently turned down the job to manage Man City, too far to travel home and months ago turned down the Newcastle Job, again to far to travel, even thought the chairman offered him the use of his chopper, But west ham are only 2 hrs drive or the use of BG’s chopper would take 35 mins. Its a good possibility and like you said, BG does work in unusual ways!

Stupid bloody rumour, the blokes talking out of his backside.
May 16th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Probably nothing in it, but nothing would surprise me these days. I laughed when I first read it but then it began to sound possible!
May 16th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Made me laugh so much ………….. Harry also gave ‘Spurs the thumbs down a few months ago.
No way will he compromise his position at PFC.
Just numptys talking out of their nether regions - the people who started this rumor need to see a proctologist as their heads are so far up their arsenals.

Absolutely no chance.

we can all dream
May 16th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
I doubt it, he’s currently got a great team for the money who will, with any luck, be playing in Europe next year. Can’t see him coming to us and having to rebuild another side now
May 16th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Dream? You must be joking! Nightmare more like. He was responsible for selling Rio (NOT Brown, contrary to popular believe), signing Gary Charles after he failed to turn up for a meeting with H in Portugal because he was on massive bender, a string of dodgy deals (how many times did he sign the same player? Haydon Foxe, Toderoff, Shaka…). Do me a favour! He is as bent as a nine bob note and started the slide that Brown and Roder finshed. H is a joke.
May 16th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
can we be serious please, no, he’s not coming back, and no, we don’t want him back
May 16th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
He’s stated in the paper today saying thathe can’t see himself EVER leaving Portsmouth. So even if he EVER does, it won’t be right now! If he does, West Ham could well be the place to tempt him… he showed when Newcastle approached him he is loyal and will choose that over money… or maybe he just realised that Newcastle is a really shit club to be the manager of!!
May 16th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Yeah right. We want the man who sold Rio for about half his market value, and with the proceeds bought Rigobert Song and Titi Camara? Please, spare me.
May 16th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
Too right he is a nightmare..
He was responsible for the clubs decline and bled us all dry.
Brown was and is a complete tw@t but it was Redknobb who decided to sell Rio when he realised how much he could make himself. If u have read Tom Bower’s Broken Dreams Redknobb is the only manager to get a whole chapter to himself, and he reveals his scurrilous involvement in there. If it was untrue you can be sure that Redknopp would have been straight to the Libel Courts but he didn’t say anything. He just got lucky with some of his has been Portsmuff signings… James Campbell Lauren etc but when they do finally burn out, which won’t be long.. or maybe has already happened he will be found out.
May 16th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
……..I mean come on, Titi Camara ffs!
May 16th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
He won’t be coming back to West Ham, and we have to move forward not back. Don’t think Curbs will get the chop in the summer, but if he doesn’t get early results at the start of the season he will be gone.
May 16th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Redknapp is not wanted by myself.
He should be hated for decline of our club (he is partially responsible for)and for stabbing his best friend Bonzo from behing.
And how can Dan Mac say, that he is loyal about the man who made Pompey x Saints x Pompey U-turn is beyond me.
I do not trust this rumour anyway.
And I trust Redknapp even less.

This is the most ridiculous rumour i have ever heard.Harry coming back to West Ham?There’s more chance of Di Canio being knighted for services to football!
May 16th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Ray: you obviously do not hear many rumours.. the worst i have heard in the last few weeks was from the Daily Mail.. Headline Henry linked to west ham.. i think!! thats the worst and most pathetic one ive heard
May 16th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
‘The man we all want’? I think you can see from the above comments that simply isn’t true. Good luck to H but I don’t want him back for lots of reasons, some of which would land me in court if I aired them.
May 16th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Why on earth would we want Redknapp back? he nearly ruined West Ham with the players he brought with the Rio money as well as nearly getting us relegated. Good luck to Pompey tomorrow but if Redknapp comes back to West Ham, I will never go again until he is sacked again. He didn’t take the Newcastle job because it was too big for him. 30 yrs of management, how many trophies?
May 16th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
oh oh i got a good one
how bout Frank Lampard snr be manager, probably about the same amount of chance as harry coming back!
lets be realistic, west ham will have a foreign manager by 2009, the english mangers are a dying breed in england. west ham will look into the possibility of signing managers of the highest quality, no two-bob manager, we need to excel as a dominant club.
look at the top 6 teams… scottish, Israeli, french, spanish, Scottish and n.irish…
follow the route lads

Good Luck to Portsmouth today.. Its much more important for an English club to win the English FA Cup than some 2nd class Welsh team.. C’Mon Pompey.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Never gonna happen but this woud be amazing if it did. Even if we didn’t sign anyone all summer but we got Harry back I would be over the moon.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Joe: the guy who wrote that comment is probably the same guy that started the rumour about Henry coming to West Ham.. Id rather we stuck with Curbs now and see how he does, the trouble is with Curbs, we wont find out till Next february, when we are sitting safe in 10th place
