It makes no Sense!!
It would make no sense whatsoever for Ljungberg to tear up his contract for £3m, when his earnings are £3.9m a year.
Even if he accepted and moved on with a free transfer, what other team would be willing to match anywhere near his weekly wages which he gets from West Ham.
This would send out a bad image of the Club to potential signings in the summer.
Ljungberg could be worth his wages, as he has proved with Arsenal, OK he is a bit rusty now, but he still has a lot of skill and given time he could be worth more to us than a mere £3.9m, and lets not forget, his international knowledge is better than any player on our team.

NEWSNOW
Precisley, and why would he want to leave?, he knows he is one of our very few class acts, he has been settled in London for a long time now Iwould assume, and he reportedly shares the vision of West Hams’ future greatness! For me Ljungberg was a milestone signing illustrating the quality and experience that we could attract here. OK we all know he is past his best but he is still a great player in my view. On the other hand if BG is making way for players of his quality but 10 years younger then please go ahead with my blessing!
It looks like it’s an early start to the silly season for us… Looking at newsnow it’s full of stories about the same old people, from the same old sources, spouting the same old CRAP!!!
Untill the club come out and state something, believe NOTHING you read…
Why do we want to get rid of him, its his second season soon and usually thats when the player is settled, If he wasn’t any good then why do Sweden always pick him for their team? if its the money, then we better be prepared for more mediocre players coming to West Ham in the summer.
It would only really make sense(along with getting rid of the other players on higher salaries) is if BG is planning to sell the club sometime in the near future. It would look much better on the balance sheet even if it costs more money now.
