Curbs has been given the green light to try and persuade Andy Johnson to play for West Ham next season.
Reports say that David Moyes has given permission for the striker to leave if he wishes but saying that, it is beleived AJ wants to stay at Goodison Park.
Johnson is one of a very rare breed of players that stays loyal to his club and players like him are a great asset to any club, and at around £8.5m its a bargain so Go get him Curbs.

Sorry, but why the hell would WE want him!!! I can think of numerous other players we should be lookig at getting… I don’t rate AJ. He’s just another one of these front players who fall down most of the time for litle or no contact… I wouldn’t want this guy at our club. It’s no wonder Moyse wants rid if him, he’s just happy to sit on the bench earning his wod by sitting on his ass!!!
Thanks, but no thanks. It’d be a step back IMO…

short arsed diver who wouldnt complement west ham at all. With Bellamy suposedly fit and of a similar stature why spend money on such an injury proned player? oh yes we usually do buy crocks so go curbs go buy another liability.

Thats why we need a new manager, if hes even thinking about AJ, its a creative midfielder we need so dont waste money on another striker

We do need a pacy striker as back-up for Bellamy, as Sears is not ready yet. Personally I’d rather have Darren Bent, but wouldn’t be dissappointed to have Andy Johnson in reserve to cover for Bellamy’s injuries or suspentions.

I know someone very close to him and we did try and buy him before Everton although with late interest. I can’t see us buying him now however, as said he brings nothing new to the table and at 8.5m it is not cheap for someone with a history of injuries. Better buys for similar money, Bent or Goudjohnson, over his injuries but down the pecking oder last year at Barca, as both have similarities to both Bellamy and Aston but also differences. Having Bent(straight swap for Ferdinand) would allow us to play Bellamy for 60 minutes and get him chasing everyone down then swapping with Bent for last 30 when defenders legs are starting to tire, dependent on score we could also leave him upfront on his own and substitute Ashton for 5th midfielder for final 20 minutes. The only thing Johnson would add is number of free kicks we get from 40yards and as we don’t have a Beckham why would we want that.

We don’t need a player like Johnson. We have good quality strikers at our club already
We need younger up and coming players who will fit into the side very very well in a year or two. Not players who will struggle to be fit during a season and only play themselves a couple of games.
It’s doing my head in continually being linked to crocks. Has Curbs not realised what position that got us in last year.
We need good quality young prospects who will compliment the current team we have well

I’d take AJ but for no more than £5m purely because of his injury record.
That way we could move on from the Carlton Cole, Henri Camara era.
He’d probably only be a squad player but would give us 4 quality strikers to choose from…
1) Ashton
2) Bellamy
3) Johnson
4) Sears
Still not sure what I think about Bobby Z. Have always rated his commitment but I’m not sure if he has consistently shown enough quality or goals for the PL.
