Patience

There are many who are saying we will struggle next season, and that there will be no major signings, which will be our downfall.

Personally I am not worried, nor will I be drawn into negativity. What we have to realise is that we have this Sheffield utd lot stalking us like Michael Myers did to Jamie Lee Curtis. Plus we have to offload some players that really don’t belong at the club. Plus we have the injury issue that is being addressed, and if what is written is true, then Nani is sending the injury
prone to Milan for assessment.

As far as the no big signings debate goes, the possibility is that this is just cloak n dagger stuff-a smoke screen if you like. But what must be realised is the fact we have the stalkers from up North trying to ponce money from us, so we must allow this to settle as well. Even if it does drag on I can still see one or two signings coming through, so let’s have a bit of patience.

Nice to see you back Dave. :)
In all accordance, from today we shall see a flurry of Transfers taking place, i cant see us buying more than 1 or 2 players, but i agree with you, we need patience for now.

  2. Dave Says:

Thanks Joe I appreciate that. Would have done an article sooner but my mum was quite ill. Shes getting better slowly. Will be great to see the transfer market start moving along, it’s been quiet lately.

hi dave. i don’t think west ham really need any new signings. we just need to concentrate on getting signings fit. and lest we forget, the calibre of signings that have been mensioned. eidur gudjohnson (who by the way is past it), and johnson (who scores a hat-trick when he is fit for one games in the season), and james harper( who is no-where near as good parker and wastes a lot more chances than mullins and noble! the iclandics must dig into the wallets deeper if we are going anywhere with this club (mainly europe!).

  4. Sam H Says:

First of all, very nice new look!

Second of all, you are very right in saying this. Patience hasn’t always been our strong point as fans…part of that problem I think is quite often, we are promised things that we never really end up seeing. Which obviously helps the patience in wearing thin.

I cannot wait to get down to Hampton and Richmond Borough and see a few faces back to full fitness. Our first team when fully fit is strong, and time will only tell when it comes to whether Curbishley is a capable enough manager. From what we have to go on so far though, he is not…….patience!

  5. Mr Moon Says:

    I agree.

Too many people are too quick to think the future lies in pissing millions up the wall on a bunch of dodgy foreigners, either this week or next.

The word ‘patience ‘ is virtually never said in a conversation about Premier league football.

3 years ago we were in the Fizzy Pop league, last season we finished in the top half.

I think we’ll do better. The time for moaning is when we’re going backwards, not when we’re making steady progress.

  6. Dave Says:

We have been promised and we will get it,but we can’t expect it over night. Our team and club are building and that doesn’t mean squandering money we have to build steadily. As mr Moon rightly said, the time for moaning is when we are going backwards.

  7. Niall Says:

im sorry but we do need to bring in a forward and a left back , carlton cole isnt good enough and with the injury problems with zomora ashton and bellamy another season watching cole as a lone forward isnt really awe inspiring and putting expectations on the young sears is a bit desperate. also, we were lucky mccartney had no injury troubles or any suspensions otherwise left back would have been a real problem. other than that i agree curbs deserves time and hopefully a fully fit west ham will be quite a team to watch!

  8. Marleeeen depreciation society Says:

never mind patience, has that peckham thug gone yet? lol

  9. ironsmith Says:

We are not alone,of course, in making no signings yet, with Spurs leading the way in many respects in the present window. We will have to sign one or two top boys to stay with them this coming season and I firmly believe we will do just that! It will probably happen very quickly but you are right, Dave, we just have to be patient.

  10. aaron Says:

Hi Dave, sorry to hear about your mum but also pleased that she is getting better.I think we have got a decent first eleven when all fit.
I think with near enough an injury free season we could be looking at top 8 finish and pushung for europe. The problem is when we have to play players like LBM, Spector and in my eyes the fat aussie aint good enough. The transfer rumours of AJ and Doyle doesnt excite me at all.Why would you pay 7.5m for a striker who has just been relegated with reading.Looks like another Quashie to me.Curbs should be bringing in younger prospects.I would like to see curbs go for someone like Frazer Campell,he really does look the part.Regards Aaron from spain.

  11. admin Says:

Well said Aaron, we all hope your mums is fit and well again soon Dave.

Anyone got any real ideas whats happening with Ferdy?

  12. Essex Irons Says:
