Rumour Menu: Starter, Main Course, Dessert.

Well, West Hams rumour mill for the summer is in full flow, with the usual amount of newspaper speculation reserved only for a slap of meal of rumour brunch.

So lets begin with the starters: James Harpers name has been flying about abit, but I can’t see this one going down the gullet. Sammy Traore has also been mentioned not long ago. Would be useful to us, but my betting is, this one won’t even reach the taste buds. And there is also Nickey Shorey. This lad was in West Hams sights before, and with Reading relegated and whispers of him coming to us slowly bringing to the boil, I think this signing looks more likely to settle in the belly of the hammers.

Main course: Not much on the menu at the moment, but those chefs at the newspapers will no doubt conjure up a few more recipes in time. Jimmy Bullards name has surfaced to haunt the old manor, but I don’t think he’ll even get on the buffet list. Steve Sidwell was also mentioned, with West Ham and a few other clubs apparently keen on his services. Wouldn’t mind the guy at West Ham, he would settle in easy like a light meal in the stomach.

Dessert: Carlos Tenorios name is being mentioned, and would settle any heartburn we had last season. Andy Johnson’s also got thrown into the rumour mix yet again; but I think this is just a bad case of flatulance and regurgitation from the newspapers. Another couple that have popped up like a souffle are Granoche and Cavani. But just like a souffle sometimes does, this story will go flat. Last is Gudjohnsenn. Now this connection was around once before, and I don’t think this one that has just been burped up to fill in a column in the papers. The guy clearly wants a move back to London; plus interest from BG, a fellow Scandinavian, this one could well be the icing on the cake. So, so far, so pud…I mean Gud.

nice article dave, at last…an article based in the real world. i’m getting fed up with the newspapers and their wild stabs in the dark. it’s got worse with nani around now we get linked to every 17 to 19 year old with any potential.

Why would we want Shorey after his performances last season?
In my opinion McCartney has been brilliant - not least because he managed to play in nearly every game.
Shorey would only be a back up LB in my squad.

Crssd hammer, the fact is that like most footballers there mind tends to wander when the chips are down, so thats why Shorey was not fulfilling his potential. We all know it’s dog eat dog in the game now.

Good article, it all gets a bit silly and to be honest I can not see any of those named joining. I prefer the positive crap, Zamora going to QPR, great move for him and us, Llundberg going to Roma, even better news for us only problem is that it is common knowledge we want to get rid of him and I cant see Roma matching his salary and paying a transfer fee more likely we give him away and do a deal with him over loss of earnings. Unfortunately even the bored journalists with their speculation cant seem to find anyone interested in Mullins, Cole, Bowyer, Davenport, Quashi, Boa Morte to come up with a half believable article. One I have read today is that Everton are interested in Benayoun, I know he was shitty when he left but at 3.5m someone is going to get a bargain if it is true. I would still have him back as he grafts and creates when the mood suits.
Somewhere in the not to distant future we are going to get some South Americans, Joorachbin has not walked away from the court case with nothing so he must believe he has some players to charge outrageous agent fees on to get the 7m back. Bit of luck he will cancel Tevez loan deal at Man U and come back to UP, stranger things have happened. I still believe nothing is likely to happen anywhere until some of the dead wood is released, come on Stoke get your cash out, you wont be able to afford real class so you may as well take our has beens
