VIDEOS of the West Ham & Columbus Crew Skirmish - Should the MLS Apologise?
The brawl that happened between Hammers and Crew Fans, should the MLS apologise or should we just forget about it, bearing in mind, The USA now think Hammer supporters are again the thugs we was 30 years ago.

Relegation?!! My Life!! They really do show how clueless they are don’t they!
As for the ‘trouble’…well I would never promote violence, but they have a lot to learn if that’s thier idea of hooliganism! Laughable! Obviously been watching too much Green Street et al. Bless em.
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:01 PM
Listen to em chanting “USA USA USA” what a bunch of tools. I think we should have them over to ours next year and see how they get on with their yank chants.
Bunch of Yank twats
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:06 PM
it’s easy to see how yanks are so well loved worldwide. friendly fire anyone?
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:42 PM
If these yanks were to come down here they would ‘get their butt kicked’!
If 30 West Ham (some of which looked like they should retire- fat n old!) can take on 100 of their hardcore at their own ground and come out unscathed, what do you think would happen if they came down ere?
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:58 PM
Ok guys let me tell you something, I as well as Joe J are old guys from the 70’s and 80’s violent football days, what the Crew did to our fans in the USA is cowardly and that says everything about the USA, pick on a small amount of people, video it, and shout USA, USA, USA, all i can say is, LETS HAVE A REMATCH AT UPTON PARK, and please bring the the crew guy in the yellow T Shirt and fresh shaved head. MY DINNER
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:01 PM
Funniest thing is that in the 4th video where all the yanks are chanting, none of the WH fans are taking the blindest bit of notice. If they were a threat or even knew what they were talking about then they might have provoked a reaction. They would have got far more than they’d bargained for though if they tried that sh*t down the Barking Road.
Still it’s quite funny seeing the yanks try to adopt a bit of UK/Euro Socher culture!!
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:07 PM
It was the Columbus Crew who threw the first punch in the video. If any guy gets punched at they are likely to retaliate in some way bet it didn’t look like we did which shows our character because it takes a bigger man to walk away. They call that a fight and it was hand bags at best. All Yanks live in a special little Utopia which is their own backsides. Seeing one of our boys in a headlock from that burger injecting security guard really pissed me off especially because he looked innocent. If I had been there and seen that, he wouldn’t have been in a headlock for very long, I assure you.
C.O.Y.I.

What a load of idiots, that fault they had something to prove by saying we done the ICF there just looking for fame!!!!! The thing is if they came to upton park they would all want to suck our c**ks!!!
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:20 PM
I think the funny part about all of this is that a majority of the so called 30 West Ham fans are Americans (or at least American Citizens). What’s the big deal that they came to sit near you so they could sing back and forth? Is singing a crime? What is this, Footloose?
Secondly, this is the same MLS club that was yelling racial slurs to an African on the opposing team. I guess that puts you on par with an Albanian.

Fat c*nts, Ive seen meaner in mothercare, Lakeside. Id love to have been there

July 22nd, 2008 at 7:45 PM
OK, I guess i have to say my peice, there is guys who support the hammers like myself, Frank, and more from the days of the ICF that watch these videos and laugh.
these guys would not have started trouble and i am sure of that, but there is a few that would, but watching the videos, it seems the main instegators of the problems is the security guys who are F**king useless, so CREW you are what you are, a bunnh of losers and the score that day proved it.
What the video shows us is, NOT English West Ham Fans, but a bunch of Yanks who have seen too many movies about West Ham and its followers, but saying that, even if they are Yank Hammers fans in old hammers shirts they still deserve our respect for following the club, where we didnt!.
We do have a hell of a lot of WHU fans in the states and especialy in NY where i spent quite of time recently, especialy in the bars
Finally i just want to say to the Toronto fans.. THX guys for backing the Hammers fans up, and we look forward to seeing 15,000 claret and Blue shirts on against the All-Stars
July 22nd, 2008 at 7:53 PM
So all you geniuses who weren’t actually there all know exactly what happened?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Look, it’s quite simple, which is good because you guys sound pretty simple too:
A handful of West Ham fans (guys wearing claret and blue - who they were, where they came from nobody cares) walked the length of the stadium to the main Crew support section and then walked down the aisle into the middl of them and then started throwing beer and punches.
The first video above is stadium security (”CSC” or “EVENT STAFF” on blue or yellow shirts) shoving these jerks back up the aisle in the direction they came, back up to the concourse.
Since this tape begins about 60 seconds AFTER the WH fans started in, to say “DUH, Hey, it looks like a Crew fan threw the first punch” is asinine beyond words.
By the time the videos start, it’s all over and the only people they are fighting is stadium security.
The other videos show the security cops wrestling with a few of your guys up on the concourse. The Crew fans are all just standing around watching. (Pssst: it’s Crew Stadium, so they mostly have Crew colors)
So yes, if you think that a bunch of twatwaffles marching into the Crew section and throwing beer and punches is “The Crew started it” and something MLS needs to “apologize for” then you’re all a bunch of retards.
July 22nd, 2008 at 7:57 PM
PS: As for the score proving something or other, we played our entire reserve side and frankly, you guys barely squeaked by on an own goal and a bad call.
But please: crow and strut about it - makes you look complete fools for bragging about beating our 19 year olds.
Is this really what you guys are about? Seriously? Cause that’s pathetic.
July 22nd, 2008 at 7:58 PM
This is a legitimate question here….
If some Tottenham fans or Man U fans or whoever strolled into the middle of your main supporters group at Upton Par what would you do?
The chanting is just that - chanting. It goes back and forth - every supporters group chants against the other team.
I challenge you to tell me that if a bunch of opposing teams fans came into your supporters group looking for trouble you would have handled things differently. You know darn well that it wasnt a matter of they were coming in to just have a friendly banter back and forth. They came into our area to start shit. And thats just wrong.
I dont blame West Ham fans I blame these dumb asses that did this. Thats it.

The Crew used thier entire backup squad and still scored on you. Not very impressive west ham
July 22nd, 2008 at 10:03 PM
The funiest thing is that the AP wire pic blasted worlwide showed some wanabe hoolie WHU twat in the middle of it all trying to look all hard, but with silly string all over his head that the crew supporters sprayed on him…hi fecking larious!
So you WHU fans get all hard chested over a little handbags in Suburban America? oh do please grow up! Next time your lot is in town, try that shit in South Central..
July 22nd, 2008 at 10:18 PM
What did you expect from douchebag Crew fans?
Calling that pathetic display a brawl and being proud of it is embarrassing.

Bill Archer, I have read many of your posts on BigSoccer and they are very well constructed and very witty. Your blog is particulary interesting, so much so that I have subscribed to it.
However, you have a knack of posting on other message boards then posting links on The Crew message boards that link to your words. You’re one of two things; A look at me merchant or a sh*t stirrer.
Having said that, keep up the good work on the blog.

About sums up your pony firm these days, ‘bring them over here’ comments. Comfots of home and all that. You travel all the way to the States, yet can’t travel around London. Muppets

Well,
If I didn’t live in CA I would likely have been at that game in one of those “old uniforms.” As an American who grew up in the UK and have been a Hammers fan all my life I am embarrassed by the American fans that are so eager to shout “Relegation” but whose clubs they support will never be relegated because “losing here in the USA is a profitable business of getting first round draft picks” rather than moving down a division.
Unbelievable…
July 23rd, 2008 at 1:08 AM
I agree with Rod. I was born in London(grew up in leytonstone) and moved to Ca. The problem here was all about reputation. Don’t think for one minute that their isn’t problem with violence in American sporting events, the NBA in Detroit where players and fans fought, is one example. Placing a banner “ICF 30 years undefeated” just stirred the pot. Cheering for Bobbie Moore and Geoff Hurst (got to see him play over here in the old NASL) as a young boy, will be something I will always remember. I would hope the MLS all star game would be better minded, the whole reason to come here was to spread WHU name in a positive image.
July 23rd, 2008 at 1:58 AM
I was there and The support for the hammers were impecable….I myself made a 9 hour journey for the match. The columbus fans known as the crewligans wouldnt make it 30 yards in east london. They are a fake firm based on green street(the movie) bullshit…….Many of the hammers showed them their worth though and we maintained ranks to sing them all out of the stadium. I have been a hammer for many years now……You know why….Not because of the ICF but because the hammers mirror everyday life where i am from in the south united states. The irons and all their supporters are blue collar…..we work for everything we have and we fight not to lose anything….I could give a f^^k is anyone respects me for being an IRON….or for wearing old uniforms…..I will follow the Hammers any and everywhere i can…..and you can bet your bottom f**king dollar i will remain “WEST HAM TIL’ I DIE!!!!!!”

Every true Hammer fan feels like you do American Hammer.
Respect to you AH
July 23rd, 2008 at 3:51 AM
it really is s shame and embarrasment for WHU. If I were a WHU fan, I’d be much more inclined to be angry at those sorry plastic followers (or are they true WHU fans Joe J?) than a bunch of pasty teens from the suburbs..seems like many of your lot seem to have misplaced anger.
-Rod.. the relegation chants embarrase you more than these “fans” parrading around in claret and blue and sullying the reputation of your club? you are not embarrased by them? go figure!
clubs don’t get relegated here due to simple economics, get over it, it happens in more countires than you think..were not embarrased by it, why should you be?
July 23rd, 2008 at 7:29 PM
Gonzo,
Pony firm who can’t travel around London? C*ap & you know it. Who are you then clueless mug? Care to mention where we’ve been turned over in London?
I’m asuming you’re a Y*d or Chelsea, either way ask your top lads who they ‘ve never wanted to get wrong with, and still don’t. It’d make a change if you turned up at ours full stop.
If you are a Yid don’t suppose you want to mention the P*ss take by us at WHL this season turning up behind you. As for a couple of your ‘top boys’ claiming they’d taken the p*ss when they got invited over a few years ago to a boozer. Embarrasing pal. I’ve lost track of Y*ds who say ‘I don’t know what it is, but we’ve never been able to get it together for you - last season being a prime example - do you not think word gets around? Everyone knows it - WH have a voodoo sign over the Y*ds. It doesn’t matter how much they travel to places like Man City they are not in our league & never will be (& they know it better than anyone else).
If you’re Chelsea, well, I’ve lost track of the p*ss takes over the years there. You’re just recognised as a joke everywhere at the moment (just ask IS who he rates, that is if you know him).
