Can we trust Curbishley’s Decisions?

Its hard to keep off the topic of Alan Curbishley when it seems day by day more of the West Ham fans are losing faith in him.

One of the co-Authors of this blog was a staunch Curbs fan only a month ago, but even he (Dave Hall) is losing faith.

We now read that the co-owner of West Ham is furious that Freddie Ljungberg has been released with a nice going away deal, this co-owner supposedly told the Sun it was Curbs fault that Ljungberg was hired, and Curbs denied this saying that Eggert did the buying and all Curbs does is the recommending, Well that says it all, if Curbs recommended Ljungberg than Eggert would have done all he could to get Ljungberg, to which he did at a costly sum.

Now we all know why Eggert left the club, it was assumed BG was furious with eggert over the Ljungberg deal and cost to the club, hence he was paid off for his shares and sent packing, should the same happen to Curbishley?

This is true, my faith has diminished, but I guess Curbs is going nowhere for the time being. Despite my lack of faith I will get behind him and the team come start of the season, and only hope he can prove me wrong aswell as others, but I have my doubts.

but i don’t think magnusson knew much about what he was doing though. i mean surely he knew that the players curbs were recommending weren’t good enough. hopefully the players curbs has singned this summer will do us some good. but come on curbs, dig deep in your pocket and get nani to buy the next kaka like he said he would!

Also, despite BG obviously wanting to make money at our club, he does have a knowledge of football, so he himself must know what was and is going on regarding our club. We also need the club to be more open and honest with the fans, this cloak and dagger stuff is clearly distressing many.

I think Curbs used have a dream that one day he would love to be the coach of Ljungberg in his days as Charlton coach, 10 years later his dream came true. but at such a cost and when it was too late.

The Co-Owner doesn’t say he blamed Curbs, he simply said that Curbs and his management team make all the footballing decisions. We all know that means Curbs, Duxbury and Nani. Nani recommends players to Curbs, Curbs decides which players he wants, Duxbury and his predecessor the Egg Man, do the wages and transfer fees. That is not the same as blaming Curbs. Seems everyone is on the witch hunt for Curbs. Is he the best manager? no I don’t think so, but we can’t have what we want. I trust Curbs to keep us in the premiership and make steady progress. That is all you can ask for from this yo yo club until it becomes an established premiership club.

I am not wild about Curbs but to say that he has no clue is stretching the truth. Charlton went down the year after he left. He kept them there just like Bolton was kept in the top league. Last year we were in 10th place. That is good bin my book.. WHUFC owners do not want to spend money, so tighten up your belts. We will do well to get 10th next season. Strong rumours that Ashton and Anton may be sold by the owners, lol. We are slaying Curbs but how about the new masters?

Gee I’m not on a witch hunt for Curbs, I just have some doubts, which I want him to prove wrong. And I hope he does. As I said I will be behind him and think we should all be behind him as he will be here come start of season.

P.s. One of my doubts is the putting Ben Thatcher at our club on trial, and this is not one Nani picked. If he signs this nutter it will do any reputation he had no good.

with some of curbs decisions last year when you analysed them after the game they were good decisions but he doesn’t seem to see the same talent as the rest of us, probably why nani is there so some players with some actual talent get bought. then he does things like playing 5 across the midfield for half the season and blames it on injuries against teams like derby. also picking boa morte all the time drives me insane, i just can’t get my head around it. curbs was fine to stabilize the club a little but we’re west ham, we like to push forward and see good attacking football. he’s not the type to take any chances at all if he can get a draw out of a game. you should also do a poll on how many people cringe when they see that boa morte has been picked.

gee you make reference to Nani??? why?? he’s only been here since the end of June.. so I don’t understand why you include him in any of this at all. Don’t really care what any off ya think anyway.. truth is uncle Alan’s a middle of the road to poor manager, and no matter what all the ac pro supporters think he wont amount to anything…ur all gonna see how good he is over the next season. U all seem to forget x 3 4-0’s!!!! splitting hairs mate over the vice directors comments that fact is that he said it at all and to a national red top like The Sun, when ur bosses come out with negative comments like that somethings wrong! seriously wrong. he will be gone by october, football is a business mate!!! Any manger who thinks Cole is good enough to lead the line, well enough said dont want to be offensive, but my nan can do better! want fooball out on the wings and good creative passing to feet aint gonna see it under Uncle Alan! Enjoy the season it’s gonna be a long one!

Isn’t it about time we laid off Curbs for a while?? He joined when we in a terrible mess. Pardrew had screwed up, the Argentinians were there, Brown had gone. It was a false dawn that we beat Man Utd in first game. The Tevez saga went on and on, our form went, but against all the odds and with some luck we stayed up. Magnusson was seen as a saviour but if we look back he was the cause of a lot of trouble. We still have the media against us and anything that happens at UP is exaggerated 100 fold. He had bad luck with signings and injuries but still managed 10th spot although the negativety at UP was worse than I can ever remember. The Tevez saga is still going on now and we still have no idea whether we are going to have to cough up any money to Sheff Utd. What we need now is a year to consolidate. Get rid of fringe players, strengthen the squad and move forwards. It will take time. Am I a fan of Curbs? No I am not, but we need to give him a chance. And if we get rid of him and replace him with Bilic, I for one won’t go again until Bilic - remember he who left us for Everton for more money and cheated Laurent Blanc out of a World Cup place - is replaced.
