Nani eyes South American Super Striker
Gianluca Nani is keeping an eye on Chilean Super-Striker Sebastian Pinto and
is willing to pay the £5m asking price from Brazilian club Santos according to The People.
The deal will only happen if Dean Ashton decides to leave, which really looks unlikely, as he just signed a 5 year deal with the Hammers worth £13m, but contracts in football mean nothing anymore, if a player wants to leave then more than likely the club will allow the move to happen if the fee is suitable, and in Ashtons case, rumours have it that a couple of clubs are willing to pay a heavy transfer fee.
Pinto (The Tank) would definitley be a suitable replacement for Ashton and he is keen to move to the Premier League.
The West Ham scouts have been working overtime to check out Pinto.
An ideal solution would be to buy him anyway and put him alongside Ashton. Curbs has yet to give his blessing on any deal made with the Striker.

Ashton is going nowhere, I wish this whole Ashton business would just stop, it’s unsettling for some fans. We need another striker in, not one out.

completely agree dave, it would be unthinkable to get rid of ashton and with bellamy injured we could do with a new striker, don’t see we don’t try to buy him irrelevant of what ashton does

We need another striker full stop. Ashton is going nowhere this season, All we have at the moment is Ashton and Bellamy, two kids and Cole. I dont feel comfortable relying on Aston and Bellamy staying fit all season. Cole will never score enough goals to be seriously considered to be good enough so getting another quality striker must be top priority! Another bod who can play on the left would be good as well but I settle for a top striker!

unfortunatly dave…
you are wrong…Ashton is a close friend of one of my friends
and he is considering the move to shite hart lane…

having sold zamora for a good price, would it be an improvement to get this guy pinto in as he is unproven in the premiership or are we back to square one? curbs really doesn’t inspire any confidence in me so i’m glad nani is dealing with the transfers now.

I cant believe that Ashton would go but there again Duxbury said a competitor so that just means WBA and Stoke. I personally think he will go to either Arsenal or Man U before deadline day and really put us in teh shit. It wil all be blamed on Curbs whi in truth will have nothing to do with it. As way of appesing fans over this they will sack Curbs and hide behind that with the 15m in the bank.
On a seprate issue why was Curbs in a meeting with Arsen Venga the other day as he calimed he was? Maybe he has woken up to our lack of firepower and is asking if Van persie is available as a free transfer to make up for the 13M we spent on Llungberg.

I personally think Ashton is one of the most overrated players in the squad. Everyone keeps sucking up his a*se yet he never produces. All he ever does week after week and jog around outside the 18 yard box, waiting for a stray ball so he can have a dig.
Bellamy seems like he could really score some serious amount of goals but realistically how many games is he going to play? Agreed that Cole doesn’t score many especially for such a promising talent but at least he runs his socks off unlike a certain striker i know.
Maybe Curbs has decided we wont make the 6 this year but we sure will endanger a lot of other teams AKA Thatcher.
If the Icelandics are serious about turning us into one of the future Big 6 clubs. They need to cop the loss and spend 20M on a 25-30 a year striker. We have the midfield and the defence (Neill excluded) to match most of the top clubs. As soon as you make UEFA you attract bigger and better..

“The deal will only happen if Dean Ashton decides to leave”
£5m for a South American Superstar and we will only buy if we sell Ashton for £20m?? Another example of our distinct lack of ambition.

I can’t believe we are talking here of only buying Pinto if Ashton leaves, why is that? is it policy at Upton park now that we are only allowed one decent player for every position( in some cases even thats not so), why not buy the guy and let him play alongside Ashton or is that too adventurous for curbs?

I dont think Ashton is going anywhere, Bob and the Author are right, why dont we just buy him to play alongside Ashton or Cole (Depends who ends up injured first)
