West Ham Squad - Sale on!
BG wants the squad cut down to 27 players, which means we will still need to get rid of a few below, getting rid of around 8 players would save us about £7m a year in wages, who would be your choice? and what price tag would you put on them?

I would get rid of the following:
Bowyer - we have enough cover for midfield, especially right midfield.
Davenport - Been unfortunate with injury but already proved he is not good enough at this level.
Quashie - Absolute toilet!
Spector - A tryer but is still sh!t
Collins or Gabbidon - Get rid of 1 as we need the cover.
Boa Morte - Another tryer, but just not worth his wages!
James Walker - If we get Latvuska, we will have enough cover.

First 6 seemed to be easy enough Quashie, Davenport, Ljungberg, Spector, Boa Morte, Cole. Then I guess 2 from Bowyer, Reid or Mullins.
I struggle to understand the thought of selling Lucas Neill. I know the fella had some bad games last year and is on a big wage, but I hear that he’s a top captain and undoubtably will be valuable in being able to cover at both fullback positions this season.

7 Fredrik Ljungberg - Overpaid and past it - £3-5mil
12 Carlton Cole - for all his trying we should have sold him and kept bobby - £3-5mill
13 Luis Boa Morte - yeah, nuff said - £3-5mill
23 James Walker - just deadwood, never been good enough for us - £1mill
26 Nigel Quashie - why did we even sign him - a pint and a bag of crisps
27 Calum Davenport - never lived up to the potential, not good enough for the prem -£1-2mill
28 Kyel Reid - possibly send him out on loan again, maybe to a low prem or high championship side

Davenport - Too many centre halfs. Better to move him on
Collins/Gabbiadon - Both are good players but we don’t need both with the emrgence of Tomkins. One should go. I like both, so whichever one gets the most money.
Bowyer - Too many players who can play right midfield
Mullins - Not good enough
Boa Morte/Etherington - Neither are good enough to start but either is ok as back up. Toss up between the pair to who should go.
Stokes - Not good enough to force his way in front of Collison or Sears and not sure what his best position is.
Reid - Better for him to move on to Championship club

Seems everyone has the same ideas so Curbs must know this. I can’t understand why we havent sent them all on holiday to Stoke in the hope of interesting them in a move.

1. Luis Boa Morte - Can never seem to find any sort of form
2. Calum Davenport - Championship quality only
3. Nigel Quashie - Blue Square quality
4. Jimmy Walker - Getting old, not played in years, Lastuvka & Stech would be decent cover
5. Tony Stokes - Been around for a couple of years now, don’t look like he’s quite gonna make it
6. Kyel Reid - as above
7. Dan Gabbidon - Gets too many “slight knocks” for a centre back, needs to toughen up
8. Lee Bowyer - Curbs loves him, but he should make way for a more creative midfielder
Pushed to sell anymore it would have to be Jonathan Spector, Hayden Mullins, Carlton Cole & Matt Etherington. Personally i think these are decent squad players who between them can cover nearly every position.

Marek Stech- Sell to a club like West Brom for £500,000. Were fine with green and walker.

Yea mate, that my be better. And as for solano; his wage bill wasnt that high and thats apparently why we got rid of him. But heard his wage was something like £30,000 a month. But you know; i thought he was really class; lucky he went then tho for me; as i was about to get his name on the back of the new away kit.
but good luck to him; hope he joins pompey and does well.

Cant believe what im reading with alot of these ….
There are the obvious choices ..
Quashie £500k
Luis Boa-Morte £1m
Spector £500k
Walker £250k
Davenport £1m
Mullins £2m
Then we need to shift another centre half …. personally i think Gabbidon and Upson best paring pace and ariel strenght … Ferdinand only looks good with either of these two and reguarly f*cks up after his had a night at Face’s !!! So he can go if somebody stupid enough to pay £6m for him.
i think we will look a different team next year if we can keep Bellamy fit …. remeber the game againest Reading last season we torn them apart with the pace on the break of Bellamy and Etherington add to that (Night train) Faubert, Behrami and McCartney we will be West Ham of Old.
So dump Lucas as his to expensive for a reserve and i cant see him starting ahead any of the others in defence. For £2m. Same goes for Freddie £2.5m.
Middle of the park we have Parker, Noble, Dyer and Bowyer. Bowyer was on fire last season pre injury get him fit again and he his probably our best scoring chance out of this lot.
Up from Bellamy, Ashton, Cole, and Sears…. this worrys me as Bellamy and Ashton spend more time with the physio than the coaches. So maybe season to set Sears lose.

lucas niell 2.5 mill lost it makes too many mistakes
jlumberg 2.5 mill seen his sell by date and not enought effort
dyre 5 mill not even a great player got tones of pace but we could make a better investment
boa morte 3 mill need i say anything
bowyer 0.5 mill not getting any younger or better not really needed
davenport 3 mill not needed we have loads of defenders and isint up 2 it
walker free i dont mind walker but hes not going 2 play so theres no point keeping him

I like most of our players and don’t particularly want any of them to go just in case we have similar problems with injuries like we did last season and other teams in the Premier league like Everton or Pompey for example are worried about the depth of their squads which is a worry I don’t want to have in any circumstance. If I were to name 7 players though they would be:
7 Fredrik Ljungberg - £2 to 3 mil - Overpaid
2 Lucas Neill - £1 to 2 mil - Overpaid (and greedy)
29 Lee Bowyer - free - I just hate him
17 Hayden Mullins - £1 to 2 mil - Dependably not good enough
11 Matthew Etherington - £2 to 3 mil - Not strong enough and scared of the ball
23 James Walker - free - Nice guy but not good enough
13 Luis Boa Morte - £2 to 3 mil - Decent on his day but panics in front of goal

lads, we need another left back, we only have mcartney. His good but if his down; were gonna have to stick like Lucas Niel there or sum1.
So a left back, a creative midfielsd and a striker who has the best finishes. Have deano for the power, Bellamy for the speed and this new guy (adrinao?? Gudjohson??? for the finishing???
And keep Lumberg and reid; both good midfield players, just offer lumberg a wage cut; not alot.

As for goalkeepers id keep walker as 3rd choice and green 1st and the czech guy as 2nd choice
stech will go out on loan this season im sure of it, unlikely will get a championship club probally league 1 plus he’l probally actually play there
keep collins, let gabbidion go even tho hes been good for us, davenport to go as well
spector is out is for a long time so i dont even know why you think hes going,…

Boa Morte:- Not a complete waste of space but he is old and cocks up too often. 3m

Walker:- He wont get into the first team, we have plenty of cover. Done us good service but should move to finish his career somewhere else. Free
Davenport:- An ok player but we have too many defenders. 1m
Bowyer:- A real fighter. Can score vital goals but he is old and injury prone. We have an abundance of young midfielders who can play his role well. 500k
Ljungberg:- I like this bloke, he tries hard even though he aint got the pace no more but his wages are too high and we have loads of people to play in his role. 2m
Stokes:- Not gonna get into the first team although he shows promise, he is old enough to be playing first team football and should try ply his trade in the championship. 500k
