West Ham to make £8m bid for Arsenal Defender

According to the Mirror, West Ham are set to make an £8m bid for Johan Djourou.

Johan Djourou is a central defender and also is a Swiss international could fill in where Anton used to play.

Wenger could be tempted to cash in on Johan Djourou after securing the signing of Mikael Silvestre.

West Ham’s are looking to strengthen their defence and especially after yesterdays match where bad
defending gave way to Blackburn’s only goal.

I can’t see Wenger letting Djourou go, with Senderos going on loan to Milan and Silvestre injury prone. Coming from an Arsenal fan, don’t get your hopes up.

In all honesty I think you have more chance of kicking the Queen in the head than getting Johan

Erm…to MyNameisEarl, get with the times….the whole reason West Ham MAY be interested in Djourou is because Anton Ferdinand has gone to Sunderland, so I think Sunderland may have something to say about your cunning plan

First we dont have 8 million, you can be sure that the money is not going to be spent on someone without pedigree, we will have more than enough cover for centre half in a couple of weeks so why invest so heavily in one position without star quality. More likely a loan deal to give him some experience if at all. I also fel that anyone coming in will be the work of Nani so this does not fit the script. I would prefer some cover at central midfield as this is where we are light. With noble suspended should Parker get injured we have little choice beyond Mullins and Bowyer, how scary is that???I would also like to see Cole move on so Curbs is no longer tempted to persist with a guy who’s first touch is crap and finishing is even worse, though he puts 110% in every week. Final signings this year for me would be Alonso, Maddicks and Doyle with LBM, Cole, Mullins, Quashi still leaving. Chances of that 0 but we live and hope.We did a deal with Joorachabin a couple of months ago to stop him telling the truth at the hearing, as part of that we were paying him agencies fees to find some talent. He must be burning through his Tevez commissions so expect a last minute loan deal from South America would be my estimate. After all poor old joorachabin has to earn a living and he has been very quite.(never know he may buy into the club as replacement for EM share, stranger things have happened recently)
