Capello’s England squad to play Andorra and Croatia - West Ham, Man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham,

Capello has named his chosen squad for the games against Andorra to be played on Saturday 6th Sept at 7pm and Croatia on the 10th Sept at 8pm.

Capello insisted on the FA Website that no player is guaranteed Captaincy or a place in the starting X1.

Players not in the squad due to injuries are Steven Gerrard, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick and Micah Richards, with Portsmouth’s Glenn Johnson and Fulham’s Jimmy Bullard brought into the England squad as backup. After the fine penalty save Robert Green made on Saturday he finally gets his call up while Lescott comes in as backup for Terry and Ferdinand.

Defenders: Lescott (Everton), Bridge (Chelsea), A Cole (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Brown (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Johnson (Portsmouth), Upson (West Ham)

Midfielders: Barry (Aston Villa), J Cole (Chelsea), Lampard (Chelsea), Bullard (Fulham), Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Downing (Middlesbrough), Bentley (Tottenham), Jenas (Tottenham)

Strikers: Walcott (Arsenal), Rooney (Manchester United), Defoe (Portsmouth), Heskey (Wigan)
