Talks planned with New Manager

Roberto Mancini

After Slaven Bilic making it very obvious he will not be taking over as manager of West Ham (not yet anyway) the board have turned their attention to who could only be the manager we need.

According to C4 News, The West Ham board are setting up an interview with Roberto Mancini in the hope the great Italian manager will take the vacant post left behind by Alan Curbishley,

Mancini is a long time personal friend of Gianluca Nani and Fabio Capello which could be a big bonus in securing Mancini at a London club.

With luck the West Ham board may also bring in Paolo Di Canio as assistant manager and also interpreter as Mancini speaks very little English.

Mancini is a very stubborn manager that has a temper to match his managing skills, players are made to prove worthy of playing to get a start in the 1st team, he is also used to having a sporting director in his clubs and would welcome the help from Nani in finding quality players in the January Transfer window.

I would be very happy with Mancini, he has proved his worth time and time again at various clubs! Although I love Di Canio I just don’t think he would make a great West Ham manager, not yet anyway! He doesn’t have the experience we need. Although, saying that, with Mancini at the reigns with Di Canio at his side we might actually ave something! But ONLY if the board let them (with the assistance of Nani) do their jobs and stop interfering! As always, just my opinion :)Matt

mancini would be great but just cant see it at his age and lack of English, even with Di Canio as numbre two, no risk of differring opinions there is there?. Whoever we decide upon lets hope it is quick, that they can attract quality (Appiah) will come to us over Arsenal perhaps as short term objective on high wages rather than join Arsenal. I hope this signals the end of negative press and we capitalise on teh reasonably god start we have made.

Mancini and Di Canio, oodles of passion and creativity. No mean thing to have a manager expecting players to prove they are worth a place in the first team, might actually get them bucking their ideas up.

I’d love to see Mancini or Zola or Donadoni. Things might get interesting. Bilic is out. Forget it.

Jman, I agree totally! we need someone of Capellos stature, someone such as Mancicni or Donadoni! Actually pretty much any Italian! lolIf we had this type of manager last year, primadonas like Ferdinand and reo coker wojld have been booted no question! We need someone that will demand quality from the players or they will sit it out!Matt

i think that di canio should be full manager of west ham he is just who we need with no experience he will be more risk taking and will give players like ashton a start every match and give everyone a chance

For me, it has to be Mancini. Mancini could attract the best players to West Ham, understands how to work with Nani, and has fantastic CLUB success. Not having Premiership experience is not an issue, he was working in the 2nd best league in the world! Bilic, as good as he is, has never been a club (week in, week out) manager. Bring on the Pink Panther!
