Transfer Rumours: Scraping the Barrel or waiting for the Best?
Lets hope West Ham do not make the same mistake as they did last season with last minute signings.
A quality Central defender that has to be better than Ferdinand, And a creative Midfielder.
Today’s Rumours: Footylatest.com
The Torino star striker David Di Michele is desperate to leave Torino after falling out with coach Gianni Di Biasi, and his preferred destination is Roma, where he was born.
But Torino are loathe to let him go to another Serie A club, and today’s Times say that West Ham have decided to try and provide them with a solution.
The 32 year-old has made six appearances for Italy and has averaged a goal in every three games throughout his career.
The Torino president Urbano Cairo stated yesterday that he will never sell his player to Roma, which is expected to open up the opportunity for the Hammers.
Various Blogs & Media:
Johan Djourou has been linked with a deadline move to West Ham with Alan Curbishley desperate to add some strength to his defense. With Mikael Silvestre now at Ashburton Grove, it’s thought that
Arsene Wenger may be looking to off-load the 21-year-old Swiss international.
We all know there will be a signing or 2 today, somebody ripe for the medical for the rest of the season.

NEWSNOW
We need 3, a central defender, creative midfielder and another striker. These will be Nani’s signings not AC’s otherwise there is no point Nani being there, especially given the Italian targets we have been “linked with”. I would like to see Cavani rather than Di Michele, not sure how good the defender at Lazio we’ve been linked with is and if Appiah can prove his fitness and is not attached still to Fenehbace then I think he could be a decent buy as well. Not sure how many creative midfielders are out there and available at the moment. Of course this could all go tits up and AC etc blame the availability of players for no more signings, which would be a pathetic excuse given the activity of other teams like the Spuds.
Hi mate. David Di Michele is a quality player but is getting quite old now so i would prefer it to be a year’s loan instead of a money signing.Johan Djourou is a good player and at 21 means he would be a good sighning for the future but apprently we want to sign him for £8,000,000 which i think is alot for a player with not alot of Premiership experience in the last 2 – 3 years. In my view i would like to see us bring in Gael Givet and Stendardo on loan from Marseille and Lazio respectivley and Edison Cavani also on loan.I would also like to see Stephen Appiah, Mattock and Tranquillo Barnetta from Leicester and Bayern Leverkusen who plays on the left midfield and is another young quality Swiss midfielder. Thanks for reading if you do lol.Bennett.
lets hope for activity both ways with Cole 5M to Sunderland, LBM 3 M to Stoke and we may have to pay for someone to take the scarlet pimpernail, Quashi.Coming in, a striker in early 20′s with pedigree (Doyle from Reading), a late 20′s to add experience to the forward line but certainly not anyone over 33. Someone in central midfield with flair, Alonso if dreams come true but not Appiah, always injured and problamatic in the dressing room and a decent left back, Mattock from Leicester. I personally don’t think we need cover for Ferdinand as we have more than enough central defenders when all fit. (not long for Collins).
Cover at Left Back is also needed. Mattock looks decent. Not sure if Shorey’s still a possibility but I’m always pleased when a fan joins the club – they tend to be that little bit more committed. I would still like to see Larsson come to the club. The younger players would have a brilliant role model and I reckon he could easily cut it in the Premier League.Â
Totally with you on Cole, LBM and Quashie aussihammer. These were the first players I expected to leave when they announced the reductions needed to the wage bills. We need to keep hold of George McCartney however. Selling him to Sunderland would be a massive mistake.
quick note as I am of to work, I have sat here for the last hour totally bemused. I believe we have been sold down the river by foreign owners only interested in the bottom line. total sales best part of 20million, in’s 1 and I am told he was 1Million rather than the 6 quoted, which after today I tend to agree with.No new signings of any quality, several players released so pretty much as they said, trim the squad so we can’t be suprised. I do feel that Curbs has been lead a merry dance and totally undermined.I am sure that they would love to be a top 6 side, jsut as long as it doesnt hurt the immediate bank balance. My view, Zamora(25), Pantsil (20), Ferdinand (25) Llungberg(80) Solano (50) McCartney (25), Carrara (20) amounts to best part of 250,000 of the weekly wage bill, 12.5million from bottom line plus 15million in receipts from sales makes it a big turn around for the books doesnt it, and after all Bankers are just that facts and figureOh to be a Man City fan where investment has pretty much been ongoing for 18 month with results to show. Decent manager and now a decent squad.Shame on the Board and Nani should be shown the door immediatley, he adds nothing to the mix other than undermining Curbs. Mccartney handing in a request after previously stating his desite to stay sais a lot about the backroom atmosphereWhat a disapointmentÂ
