I am done with Ashton....This may not par for this blog but I am pissed beyond all reasonable doubt - I do not believe he will play for WH again. I think Capello had him booked correctly when he said he was overweight, I think that has hinderedhis rehab from last years injury...SOme times you have to learn when to cut bait - bye bye Deano, its been fun while it lasted.

I pretty much agree, if you get injured playing you should still receive full pay, however we do seem to have a few players that suffer from this regulary. Unfortunately the main sport here in Aus is Rugby league, although i am not a massive fan I do watch most weeks and am suprised given the tough tackling how few injuries there seems to be compared with the soccer players. Any player with Hamstring is not bad luck but poor planning and fitness regime. Hamstrings normally go because muscles are not warmed correctly so this should never happen but seems to with bellamy all the time. Seperate issue, whats happenning with Appiah? anyone know and yes none of the welsh boys should be allowed to pla until fully fit and appearing for WHU. If bellamy and Collins get injured again we do not have the financial muscle to replace, I can see us finishing the season with Sears as our main striker which may not be all bad.Â

Then to the tricky question of who is responsible for the sick leave? Is the footballer the one at fault for getting injured? Or is it perhaps the medical staff that told him and the club that he was fit to play (when he actually wasn’t), or is it the club that provided him with an inferior medical staff, training facilities and rehab possibilities? Can you imagine the legal consequences this will have if we would take away a players pay when he suffers something so intimately connected with his job as a footballer as an injury? We will spend more time following transcripts from courts than on the game itself.
