Lack of Ambition!
Lack of ambition is something West Ham are not suffering with under Gianfranco Zola, for 75 mins on Saturday West Ham proved that with more training and experience they can be a side to be on par with any of the Top 4 clubs, so Tony Cascarino’s article in the Times this morning proves unfounded when he stated the following:
The lesser sides are favouring cautious tactics more and more – not just against the elite but against each other. No wonder the Barclays Premier League table is so bunched up, it’s full of teams of similar ability acting the same way. What’s to separate them except a bit of luck, the odd flash of individual inspiration or a refereeing decision?
Every club including the top 4 depends on a little luck, the odd referee’s decision in their favour, and some flash of individual inspiration.
West Ham have gone 6 games without a win, but ambition, skill, and entertainment is 3 factors that they do show, only time will tell if Zola’s tactics are proving worthy of using, i beleive they are, and sooner rather than later we may see some benefits, lets hope it is against Pompey this weekend.

I dont think that you have the manager to get you out of a relegation battle should you continue to be sucked in to one. Your young players look special but they wont stay there just like all the others you sold.We ll be above you by monday!!
And you are still below us Chrisy. And your speculation as to our players leaving is as about as accurate as your comment.
Your two points ahead of us and we ve had the worst start ever in our entire history, that should tell you something!!!Im sure it wont be long before we re above you. Sunderland and Liverpool away you ll be lucky to get any points with the hapless Zola in charge. When you get relegated can we but your kepper please?
And let me guess Chrisy…you’ll be in the top 4 by christmas aswell. Always amazes how you lot go quiet when you play poorly, then pop up like a jack in a box as soon as you get one foot off the ground. You should have more respect for Zola aswell, the man is a ikon in this sport and worth more than any of you lot are at your deluded club.
I dont think it can be stated that “us lot go quiet” when things are bad. In fact for countless seasons running white hart lane has been the second loudest ground in england (behind sunderland) and the papers and websites are awash with spurs fans discussing the various goings on. Yes as a breed of fan we are particularly naive around transfer time and continously have higher hopes than seem in our reach, but you HAVE to push higher or you stagnate, standstill and get relegated which you KNOW too well.My comments here were regarding your manager not having the ability required at this level, especially if you get in to a relegation battle and I stick by that. Zola WAS an icon in the game as a player and if you remember he played for your rivals CHELSEA. My goodwishes for your LITTLE club expire daily and I hope Zola gets you relegated and we ll see how much your icon means to you then.
Chrissy are you any relation to an old friend of mine Andy Day? also a Spurs fan.
You make me laugh Chrisy. No one heard a peep out of you lot when you lot were glued to the bottom but as soon as a few wins come along, you are suddenly going to do this and do that, and suprise surprise the parrot syndrome sets in with the we are a small club, blah blah. Change the record. You’re about as original as dry toast.
I believe I ve addressed the argument that we were all very quiet (not the case – please see previous message). I don think that a few wins have come along and now were all parrots either, I have to remind you that most free papers in london had texts from hammers laughing at spurs along with the arse. Lets revise the original point I put to you which was that I dont think Zola can cut it at this level as an unproven, unexperianced manager and that has to be a cause for concern surely??? Are you worried about your points haul from the last 7 games??
Sorry Andy I’m not.
Not as worried as you lot were Chrisy. And your point about Zola not cutting it at this level is lame. You had a proven manager in Ramos that couldn’t hack it at ‘this level’, so maybe you should address that last statement you made. Which I may add, you also have now addressed twice.
Well we installed an experianced proven manager that won us a trophy (wehn did you win one again?) against chelsea in a final at wembley. Even with his managing experiance he COULD NT cut it at league level – thats why he has gone. You have an unproven, inexperianced manager that does have experice of the premier league as a player which I hope see’s you through. The omens and the very competitive natuare of the league this year dont look good.I suppose you ve survived worse even though you did cheat sheffield united out of a league place – enjoy scraching around for that 30 million you owe.
Chrisy you are an idiot of the highest degree, even more so by bringing up the Sheff utd saga, which just shows you are clasping at straws. And as I stated before you had a PROVEN manager that couldn’t hack it. You even got rid of a decent manager in Jol, and look how he is doing. Still, good luck to him for doing so well at a decent club now that has no delusions of grandeur.
No creation, no goalscorer, Calton Cole on a 5 year contract, Zamora sold to fulham, Zola playing dull defensive football. Oh dear it seems my prediction of Zola not being able to turn around a situation is coming true Dave. Given the time Im sure he’d get it right but there are worrying signs ahead, and will he get the time??Something that we might be able to agree on is that its bloodt funny that Man city have all this wealth and signed Robinio and there only just above us!!!!!!!
