Mrisho Ngassa on trials with West Ham United in April

An interesting story in a Tanzanian Paper regarding a new African star invited by West Ham United for trials in April. read the article below :-

Young Africans ace Mrisho Ngassa has received an invitation to join English premiership club West Ham United for trials.

Ngassa, who has been constantly hunted by European teams, will fly to England early next month for the two-week trials.

A letter signed by West Ham United secretary P.R. Barnes says Ngassa is supposed to join the team from April 13.

It said the club was ready to incur all expenses for the players stay in England till the end of the trial.

“We are ready to pay for his transport, meals and accommodation during his stay in the country. We wish him good luck,”

said Barnes in the letter.
He said they have contacted Bakhressa, the agent recognised by FIFA, to organise the players trip to London.

Ngassa would be under the technical bench led by Coach Gianfranco Zola. The bench would assess his stamina, speed and attitude.

Young Africans secretary general Lucas Kisasa confirmed the good news, saying they have accepted the request through Bakhressa.

Kisasa urged Ngassa to train hard before departing for London in order to meet qualities required.

The move would benefit his club, as it is responsible for his transfer, should he pass the trials.

“We are happy with the invitation. It is a good opportunity for the player to show his prowess; it is also a golden opportunity for him, Young Africans and his country at large,”

said
Kisasa.

This is the second time Ngassa gets a request for trials from European teams. Lov-Ham of Norway was the first team to seek his services.

However, the teenager’s earlier move hit a snag after the Norwegian club messed up with transfer procedures for not involving his club in the process.

We do not know much about this youngster but if anybody does, then leave us some info in the comments below.

  • Good news to Tanzania soccer! Mrisho Ngassa got the three S’s needed. Speed, Skills and Stamina/Strength, at least to considerable levels. His pace with the ball is amazing. I wish him success albeit his success would means a great loss to our club, defending champions Young Africans.

West Ham United has got more than great opportunity to get such a very tallented roving player. The boy is almost compared with other European players like Robinho of Manchester City of England. He is very tallented boy in the pitch.Your going to see his feet during the trials.

Mrisho Ngassa is a very tricky and speedy and not only skillfull but also good at making defenders eat grass…lol, seriously Ngassa is a talented young ace of the new century…when you talk about Robinho when it comes to skills, you talk about Ngassa and when you talk about Pato’s speed, you talk about Ngassa, this boy has got everything that a striker has, Zola will definitely not try him the second day i believe, because he will be like wow, where is he from? TANZANIA of course, God Bless Mrisho Ngassa, God bless the land of Talent, Tanzania.

Being a Tanzanian I wish Ngassa well. Being a football lover I want to share objective opinions of what Ngassa the footballer is like. Disclaimer: my opinions are as worthless as anybody elses except Zola’s.
I beg to differ with opinions comparing Ngassa to Robinho. Ngassa’s style of play reminds one of Shaun Wright Phillips before Chelsea days. He is fast with and without the ball and delivers high quality crosses. If he played with more lethal strikers on his teams his value to the team would be even more pronounced because his crosses would lead to more goals than they do now. He is also extremely hardworking on the field and can play for 90 minutes at the same level. His preferred position is right wing but I have seen him play effectively in central attacking roles. He had until recently tendencies to get distracted with ’showboating’. Since being selected to join the national team he does not showboat as much. My guess is the national team coach gave him guidance on how to be more effective. Showboating is the price of youth and talent I suppose.
He is not a tall player…but neither was Zola. Sometimes I suspect Zola saw a little bit of himself in Ngassa. His flaw is that he is not a very strong player. In the Premier League it might be easy for defenders to body-check him out of the way. For now he makes up for his lack of strength with his agility. You can knock him down but he’ll be up and gone before the ref can blow the whistle. With the right training regimen he can become stronger and even more devastating to opposing fullbacks. I also do not recall him doing something memorable with his left foot. That’s not necessarily a serious flaw. Messi and Maradona are not noted for what they can do with their right boots either.

ngassa is a good player as he has all the basic qualities of a talented player.he has carried a Tanzanian flag and Africa as a whole.i am sure he will win the trials and everyone will amaze with him.ngassa is a wonderfull targeter on goal approach, i wish all the best to mrisho ngassa. God bless Tanzania.

  • I know a guy, He is very good

  • Mpingo

Ngassa is still young and ambitious. I advise his agents not to give up in case he will not be taken by the team, instead they should try to get him a chance from other leagues (e.g France, Spain, belgium, Scandinavian countries) where they play a less physical football.

It is interesting to see people making folloup of what is taking place in their country especially on sports. I wish to join hands with almost all who have madeup their comments related to Mrisho Ngassa.

In simple words Mrisho Ngassa currently is a good player. Satisfying or not satisfying Zola has nothing to do with his perfomance and in life there is always no straight foward answer as to how can one sucessed. Life is sometimes a game of chance especially in African COUNTRIES, but that should on itself threaten nobody.

We have heard through our media that he is no tdoing well, but that is Zola’s team that is given mandate to reccommend on the perfomance og Ngassa. Whether he qualifies or he don’t that does not make his football life to an end but rather Tanzanians should always encourage him to do better in future.

Honestly NGASSA is a good player.

    Danke Schon

I think the best way is to let his agent write an offer to various teams and this increases the value of the player. Young African can even release him by (lending out for free" to other europian teams not only from UK.
