Did anyone catch the write up of the Spurs game in the Fail on Sunday?
Ian Ridley put together this farcical piece that brown noses old Rednapp for about 40% of the article, before grudgingly mentioning the Hammers.
It starts with the headline; ‘Rednapp still riding high over hammers s Roman puts his best foot forward’. (Anyone tell Ridley we are still above Spurs?). Apparently, it’s now all over. This win has Spurs “looking towards a place in next season’s new Europa league, possibly at West Ham’s expense”. Oh, and guess what, ‘arry has done a ‘remarkable’ job and spending some £15m on Pavlychenko appears to be wholly justifiable according to Ridley because he’s now had one half decent game against us after a winter of mediocrity. Great rate of return, ‘arry – well done.
Zola gets a cursory nod from Ridley – “it might now be too much to ask for (our) manager Gianfranco Zola, who has done an excellent job this season, to sustain a challenge for a European place”. Excellent job indeed, Ridley. Oh, and without the odd spare £15m to throw at players who do bugger all for 15 games but then put in 1 performance and trigger the old familiar we luv ‘arry rhetoric from our pathetic media who seem unable, or unwilling, to see the chancer for what he is. Give me Zola and Clark any day.

that was pavlychenkos 14th goal of the season…his 1st season i might add! what your point in bringing up his value? (we paid 13.7mil for him) you go on like that was his only goal for spurs.
Also pav was already at spurs when harry joined us, harry didnt bring in pav…and his value is nearer 13mil…and as the above user said, that was his 14th goal in his 1st season in the prem, without playing every week!!! …..this seems a very poorly researched article

very poor article….pav was not bought by harry, he was there last summer long befoe harry took over, also that was pavs 14th goal for spurs in his first season, not to shabby! yet you make out he is average at best and keep refering to his price (which was actually nearer to 13mil,please do your research)….to the poster above, chimbonda is a right back (who doesn’t play) palacious a defensive midfielder, so there not exactly going to get loads of goals are they? mug!…..defoe scored 3 times in 5 games before getting injured, and keane has been instrumental in our recent upturn!…more sour grapes from west pikey ham…love seeing you gypo’s squirm every time we do you

You spurs chaps obviously didn’t read the article properly at all. All of my figures, and indeed the thrust of the argument, is directly lifted from Ridley’s article.
My overriding point was, and still is, that this excuse for a journalist bangs on for nearly half of his piece about how Pav, as you call him, must have been wondering about the worth of his £15m – yes, Ridley’s words not mine, £15m move to the spuds.
You lot get off on beating us with half of our first teamers sidelined? Goon on ya. Enjoy it while you can. Finished above you last season, every chance of so doing again.
