Transfer Windows – mostly just the media making money!

So, this parent at my school (Liverpool fan) comes up to me today and says “so, what do you think about the Rob Green thing then?”. Incredulous, but trying to look cool, I reply to him “Rob Green, what about him”. At this point he starts banging on about Green’s alleged reluctance to sign an extension to his contract being a sign that he is clearly unhappy at West Ham and is looking for an out. I dismiss this as yet more of the idol crap that sells newspapers, which indeed abounds at this time of the year.
Then, I rush home to my PC and scour the internet to see if there is any shred of truth in this latest scaremongering in the direction of WHUFC. None that I can find.
This is just the way it is for the next 12 weeks, so we all need to develop tough skins, eh?
God, I love these windows – NOOOTTT!

Hi, Congratulations to the site owner for this marvelous work you’ve done. It has lots of useful and interesting data.

  • @ Marleeeen: The Headmaster did not say that he said that Green wants to leave, he quoted

“At this point he starts banging on about Green’s alleged reluctance to sign an extension to his contract being a sign that he is clearly unhappy at West Ham and is looking for an out”

meaning that the Liverpool fan was saying that.
The truth is that Green is happy to be at West Ham United but does want his Wages to be inline with the other players, from what is to be beleived he is now on £26k a week and wants it raised to £28-30k a week. Another reason that he wants to stay is that he loves working with Zola and Clarke as his manager.
