Rob Green’s got me worried

I’m not so concerned about Rob’s errors against Fulham, everyone is entitled to an off day. No, what I detect is a tad more serious – starting with his public criticism of some of his team mates after the away performances at Bolton and Citeh but showing themselves up yesterday in terms of poor body language (none of the usual hand of recognition in response to the chants of England’s number one, for example). I know that sounds tenuous and interpretation of general demeanour is not an exact science, I’ll grant you. It’s just that yesterday was different, there was definitely something missing from Green’s usually fiercely competetive edge.
Is Green issuing a subtle ‘come and get me’ cry?
Is it the old disenchantment with the financial terms of his contract?
I’m not sure. In the past 18 months, I’ve always consistently rubbished the massed ranks of the muppets queuing up to tell us that Green was about to leave during the transfer window. This year, with the other external uncertainties added into the mix, I am not quite so sure as January fast approaches.
