Andrew Johnson Bagged for £10.5M

Everton accept a bid of £10.5m for Andrew Johnson and Fulham have beaten West Ham to sign him.

West Ham were rumoured to be in the chase to sign AJ with Fulham, Wigan and Sunderland.

Andy Johnson was not included in last nights game against Preston North End and was not included in either the starting line-up or among the substitutes, which fuelled rumours he was on his way somewhere.

Its not bad news for West Ham as the club are trying to secure players that are not after high wage demands, and as a Hammers supporter i have to admit, i am glad we missed out on this signing, if the rumours were true.

Not for Sale and Not Bothered!

Everton boss David Moyes has issued a “hands off” warning for clubs who want to lure Andrew Johnson out of Goodison Park.

The future of England international, Andy Johnson, is hanging in the balance as the latest reports suggest that Everton manager does not want to sell him at ANY price. He has four years left on his contract at the Merseyside, although his last season at the club was plagued by injuries.

Some of the English clubs who liked to have the services of the 27-year old include West Ham, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough. Wigan boss Steve Bruce had managed him at Birmingham. Sunderland boss Roy Keane was also regarded as a keen admirer of the striker.

Although a lot of speculation still remain on the future of Johnson, David Moyes is not at all happy with the rumours. He openly declared in the club’s official website that he does not want Johnson to go and the club will not sell him.

A few weeks ago, Moyes mentioned that he is looking forward to rebuild the squad and ’some of the top players’ would be sold to finance the amount. This statement had invited interest from the clubs in England, wanting to sign Andy Johnson.

“Andy Johnson is not for sale - it is that simple,”

Moyes told the club’s official website

Everton will have to look for other ways to find some cash in order to build the squad for the next season. Although they have got some money from UEFA for qualifying for the last 16

Green Light Means Go Curbs Go!!!

Curbs has been given the green light to try and persuade Andy Johnson to play for West Ham next season.

Reports say that David Moyes has given permission for the striker to leave if he wishes but saying that, it is beleived AJ wants to stay at Goodison Park.

Johnson is one of a very rare breed of players that stays loyal to his club and players like him are a great asset to any club, and at around £8.5m its a bargain so

Rumour Menu: Starter, Main Course, Dessert.

Well, West Hams rumour mill for the summer is in full flow, with the usual amount of newspaper speculation reserved only for a slap of meal of rumour brunch.

So lets begin with the starters: James Harpers name has been flying about abit, but I can’t see this one going down the gullet. Sammy Traore has also been mentioned not long ago. Would be useful to us, but my betting is, this one won’t even reach the taste buds. And there is also Nickey Shorey. This lad was in West Hams sights before, and with Reading relegated and whispers of him coming to us slowly bringing to the boil, I think this signing looks more likely to settle in the belly of the hammers.

Main course: Not much on the menu at the moment, but those chefs at the newspapers will no doubt conjure up a few more recipes in time. Jimmy Bullards name has surfaced to haunt the old manor, but I don’t think he’ll even get on the buffet list. Steve Sidwell was also mentioned, with West Ham and a few other clubs apparently keen on his services. Wouldn’t mind the guy at West Ham, he would settle in easy like a light meal in the stomach.

Dessert: Carlos Tenorios name is being mentioned, and would settle any heartburn we had last season. Andy Johnson’s also got thrown into the rumour mix yet again; but I think this is just a bad case of flatulance and regurgitation from the newspapers. Another
