Cole has Regrets

Carlton Cole has admitted he regrets missing out on playing for his fathers national team Nigeria.

In his interview with BBC Sports, Cole who was invited to the join Super Eagles during the first round of the qualifiers to the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup caused stir in Nigerian disclosed that he would have loved to wear the green & white jersey.

Cole said:

“I was really daft, My dad is from Nigeria, I would have loved to play for Nigeria but it was not to be because I was not eligible. I’ve played for England U-21 in a competitive competition and captained the team. Honestly, it was hard for me when I got to know”.

“I was disappointed I couldn’t play for my dad’s country, but these things happen in football. Right now, I’m focussing on my career at West Ham and see where that gets me”

“Honestly, I wish I was there but they won’t need me. I always wish them best of luck, the Nigerian team, I know all the players there. It’s a good job if they can get to the World Cup and make a massive impact.”

Cole has recently found new form at West Ham under the watchful eye of Zola and Clarke and could one day and fulfil his true destiny and that is as an English Player playing for England.

McCartney to Sunderland, Ashton to Aston Villa

Here we go, the biggest rumours around are that 2 of or best players are going to move to teams less superior to us!

Aston Villa willing to offer £15m for Ashton… Hmmm sounds good to me but the guy has already signed a deal worth £13m with us, err excuse me his last name is Ashton not Benayoun, as for George McCartney he is a solid part of West Hams defence and we would hardly let this guy go.

Rumours Say:
Northern Ireland defender George McCartney is on the verge of leaving West
Ham and returning to his previous club Sunderland, BBC Sport understands.
McCartney was linked with a return to the Black Cats in July before signing
a new five-year deal with the Hammers. West Ham turned down a £4.5m offer in
early July but Sunderland have made a renewed bid of around £6m for the
Northern Ireland player. McCartney is having a medical at Sunderland on
Monday. The defender joined West Ham from Sunderland in a £1m deal in August
2006.

As for Ashton leaving the Hammer’s, sorry Villa try again next year, the guy is ours and he loves the fact he is our hero at the moment, why cant you make good of what we gave you last season?
End Of!

And as i said too guys last week, Appiah will be playing for West Ham after the International Break.

Green; Misquoted or not?

I recently did an article about what a senior source at West Ham had told the BBC, and there was plenty of quoting going on. But although this doesn’t mean this is all necessarily direct quotes, and words can be twisted, I do feel this one had something true about it.

Now on the subject of misquoting, lets turn our attention to the latest saga, this one involving Robert Green. I originally thought the Sun newspaper had got hold of this apparent interview, but it turns out its straight from them;and once I knew this, well what can I say…if it’s from this paper, then my mind is at ease already.

This rag is notorious for misquoting and twisting things to suit their own needs and line their pockets, regardless of what people, think, much like all newpspapers, but these guys are a joke. And on reading what Green had apparently said, in my opinion what he was suppose to have said seems like it’s been twisted and moulded to the way this paper wants it.

I FEEL I’m right about this one, but we still need Green to come forward and clear this up, not just the club itself.

No dark clouds

West Ham plan to buy new players this summer despite a desire to trim their squad, the BBC have said.

A senior club source has told the BBC,

‘We effectively have four teams on a payroll - that is far too big a squad. We will be signing players and have specific requirements. We don’t have to sell before we buy necessarily.’

To cut a long story short, regarding the medical and training facilities, the source goes onto say,

‘We are trying to make the best of the know - how, and expertise that we have at our club. The aim is to have first class medical and training facilities to rival those at the biggest european clubs.’

If what has been written is true, and there’s plenty of quoting going on in this BBC article, then this is miles away from the doom merchants from the press who seem to constantly have a stalking obsession with casting fictional dark clouds over our great club.

Personally I’m not leaning towards this article because it’s just what I want to hear, I’m for this article because it’s what I’ve believed all along, regardless of the ludicrous attempts from the daily rags to bring us down. In reality there is nothing to worry about. Our club is in safe hands, we are ok fellow hammers.
