Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson: I would rather sell my other assets then sell West Ham United

After speculation that Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is looking to sell West Ham United and that the club would be going into administration, news has arrived that Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson wants to reassure the fans that he has no intentions of selling his club and that administration is far from being true.

According to the Independent Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is furious with rumours that West Ham United have supposedly asked the firm Seymour Pierce to find a new owner for the club, he also wanted the fans to know that he would rather sell any of his other assets than sell West Ham United.

This is great news from the big man whom has suffered great losses in his Icelandic empire and that his country Iceland are begging him to sell his European assets in aid of helping the Icelandic economy.

All premier league clubs have massive debts and West Ham’s debts are around £60m in various loans, this amount is nothing compared to what is called the big 4 clubs which in total is estimated at around £1.2bn.

The threat of having to pay Sheffield Utd up to £50m is a big worry for the club, but with the talent of the squad and at least 6-8 players rumoured to be sold in january the club will be ready for its destiny.

Will He or Won’t He?

With Landsbanski collapsing, we have been reassured that us fans should not be worried, and that although others have took an interest in buying our club, it is not up for sale…or is it?

Of course the board are not going to come right out on sky and give the answers they want to hear. And even though a member of the board has stated that this will not affect West Ham, I beg to differ.

It has been stated that we have a large squad, and that some players will have to go in order to bring in others. That’s all fine on the surface, but what players would we have to sell in January in order to steady the ship?

Maybe I’m just imaging this, but listening to the interview on sky, I wasn’t convinced by the words of assurance. In my opinion it is only a matter of time before BG sells us, and especially with others interested, including the 6th richest man in the world, Anil Ambani, if these reports are to be believed.

Regardless of the words spoken of all is ok, at the end of the day, the question is, will BG sell up or not. Money talks

Snakes and Ladders - West Ham and Success

We at West Ham do not live in the same fantasy world as Tottenham & Newcastle but we do have the same desires.

I would be very interested in readers views on how you believe West Ham could achieve a successful future.

In the past with Terence Brown we sold our quality youth players for peanuts instead of reaping the benefits of success and then be financially rewarded in the years of their service to come, now we have Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, will he be a better owner?. We need a bigger Stadium or renovation to The Boleyn Ground, and then again be financially rewarded with a bigger crowd capacity of 50,000 fans, and i know this annoys many readers but we do need to bring in a more experienced Manager and assistants, we now have better training facilities and

Kia Joorabchian to buy West Ham?

As crazy as it sounds this is still a possibility. Kia failed in his bid to buy West Ham in 2006 and still has strong desires to own the Club.

The out of court settlement, where Kia dropped his £7.1m lawsuit and instead will act as a transfer consultant for the Hammers is a bit mysterious but also probable.

I find it hard to believe Kia would be happy to lose £7.1m or even £1m, and be willing to gain his money back on future transfers to Upton Park, this will take years to even get anywhere near to what he claims West Ham owe him considering not every player he brings to Upton park will be like Tevez or Mascherano and reap the same profits for the Iranian, and we know that BG is suffering from the credit crunch, the new stadium is virtually a thing of the past and the lack of any spending this summer does

Transfer News: West Ham would be my First Choice, not Newcastle!

Eidur Gudjohnsen, Star Player of the Mourinho era at Chelsea

Eidur Gudjohnsen spoke on Catalunya Radio and said if he was to leave Barcelona and went to the Premier League, then it would be to West Ham and not Newcastle.
His main reasons were because of his close friends, who live in London and his relationship with West Ham’s Icelandic owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, who has spoken to Gudjohnsen about his ambitions for West Ham and how he would love for him to be a part of the Hammers future.

He said that Barcelona have given him permission to leave and that his agents are soon to start talks with a premier league club in regards to his future.

West Ham’s Manager Alan Curbishley has tried to persuade Gudjohnsen to come to the Hammers since last year and also with the aid of BG talking to the player.

It may all depend on what West Ham have to offer Gudjohnsen. and if it is anything

BG, You Clever Little Banker!!

We all know about the Tevez saga, and how Kia wanted more money from West Ham for the loan of
Tevez during the final few games that kept us in the Premiership.
We obviously agreed to some sort of deal, the deal made between BG and Kia, i guess we as fans we will
never know of, but if it was £7m, then it was worth every penny.

BG, being the clever banker that he is, has agreed to pay back the so called £7m, but in installments and
as an agents fee over the next few years, now this is a clever business strategy by BG, he certainly knows
he could use Kia to bring in more exiting young talent that he owns rights too from South American clubs.

I know i would love to see a mixture of South American talent as well as our homegrown boys playing at
Upton Park next season, wouldnt you?

Take a look at what influences Kia is having on Man City!

Forget the past, lets use

BG Tells Fans - No Big Signings this Summer!!

Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is warning fans he will not be spending money on big signings, BG believes West Ham are capable of their new target next season with more or less the players that will be available from Injury.

“Although certainly less eventful than the previous season I have been pleased with our progress and it gives the club a platform from which to progress further,”

said Gudmundsson.

“I share the frustration expressed by Alan about the scale of our injuries but endorse his view that the squad he has assembled should be given a chance to play together while allowing the exciting young talents emerging from our academy to establish themselves in the first-team squad.”

Gudmundsson wants West Ham to emulate the model used by rivals Tottenham, who have succeeded in capturing talented young players like Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson for small fees - and watching their values skyrocket.

“When I first purchased West Ham I was keen to emphasise my long-term commitment to building the club,”

said Gudmundsson.

“To this end the club has invested at net £40m in the squad - and I hope that next season we will finally see a settled side with a realistic chance of competing for honours.

The club have appointed Gianluca Nani as technical director to oversee the new transfer policy and the Italian has a history of uncovering hidden gems from his time at Brescia.

Gianluca Nani will endeavor to sign players on

Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson: Trim - Sell - Buy, You’ve got 1 more Season!

By Joe (Rooster)

A senior source from West Ham has told the BBC that BG (Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson) is not in the habit of firing Managers after only 18 Mths of work, but what he will be expecting from Curbishley next season is a Eufa place at the minimum.

The source said

“Mr Gudmundsson is used to looking at long-term factors and knows you don’t judge a manager in any business after 18 months,”

“Now is a time to stabilise, because we are convinced that success comes through stability. The ratio between wages and turnover is too high at the moment.

“We have probably the biggest first-team squad in the Premiership and our transfer strategy has to be carefully planned going forward.

“West Ham have a first-team squad of 40, so there is considerable room for manoeuvre. The last thing you should do when you have a problem is to throw money at it.”

The Source also said about the financial side of West Ham:,

“We finalised the financial arrangements of West Ham before the credit crisis hit and the club is on a very stable footing. That financial framework hasn’t changed a bit.”

and then he said about the team and training facilities:,

The Hammers are now focusing on bringing through their own players, with Freddie Sears and James Tomkins already having impressed for the first team this season.

And Gudmundsson is determined to improve the club’s medical

Curbishley suspects Enemy on Board - West Ham

Curbishley had his players training at 9am yesterday, on their day off, after Sunday’s debacle at White Hart Lane, there were no grand addresses, no sit-down talks. Nor have there been any ultimatums from the directors. Although Curbishley suspects he has an enemy on the board, he feels cheered by
