McCartney to Sunderland, Ashton to Aston Villa
Sep 1, 2008 West Ham News
Here we go, the biggest rumours around are that 2 of or best players are going to move to teams less superior to us!
Aston Villa willing to offer £15m for Ashton… Hmmm sounds good to me but the guy has already signed a deal worth £13m with us, err excuse me his last name is Ashton not Benayoun, as for George McCartney he is a solid part of West Hams defence and we would hardly let this guy go.
Rumours Say:
Northern Ireland defender George McCartney is on the verge of leaving West
Ham and returning to his previous club Sunderland, BBC Sport understands.
McCartney was linked with a return to the Black Cats in July before signing
a new five-year deal with the Hammers. West Ham turned down a £4.5m offer in
early July but Sunderland have made a renewed bid of around £6m for the
Northern Ireland player. McCartney is having a medical at Sunderland on
Monday. The defender joined West Ham from Sunderland in a £1m deal in August
2006.
As for Ashton leaving the Hammer’s, sorry Villa try again next year, the guy is ours and he loves the fact he is our hero at the moment, why cant you make good of what we gave you last season?
End Of!
And as i said too guys last week, Appiah will be playing for West Ham after the International Break.

Newcastle and Sunderland Battle for £7m Ferdinand
Jul 30, 2008 Transfer Rumours, Transfers
Sunderland boss Roy Keane is reportedly interested in Anton Ferdinand. The West Ham United defender
has been linked with a move away from the club for over two months; the Black Cats are set to make a last ditch effort to bring the England Under-21 defender to Wearside.
Sunderland will be expected to pay in the region of around £7 million for Ferdinand, who had been hotly tipped to join Tottenham earlier in the summer.
It does now appear that Sunderland have jumped to the head of the queue, after Spurs apparently opted to sign midfielders as opposed to defensive signings.
Newcastle’s Keegan will also be monitoring Ferdinand’s position very closely, and are expected to make an offer for the player very soon which may outbid the Black Cats.
