West Ham Captain Lucas Neill: Man City come and get Me!

According to the Australian News Media & a Well known British Sunday Rag, Man City are to make a bid of £1.6m after a plea from the Hammers captain Lucas Neill.

West Ham are looking at ways to cut the extreme wage bill down, and Lucas Neill is one of the high wage earners with earnings of around £55k a week.

It is beleived that Curbishley is trying to comprimise with Lucas over a new wage agreement but with offers coming from clubs such as Galatasaray & Man City it may prove to be a mission just to keep Lucas at Upton Park.

Lucas Neill used to play under Mark Hughs at Blackburn and will have first hand knowledge of his old star player, so if the rumours turns out to be true, it could be Neill wearing a sky blue Man City kit instead of the Sky Blue Hammers away kit in the new season.

Zamora to Middlesbrough or Blackburn - Curbs eyes young Winger

Not A Happy Hammer
Bobby Zamora is not happy that his earnings have not improved since the 2006 and will be looking to leave this summer for better wages, Middlesbrough and Blackburn have shown a lot of interest in Zamora.
I beleive that Zamora has a lot more to offer, he was a great link up with Tevez last season proving to be a formidable duo, Curbs would do well to listen to his demands, And if he goes anywhere i would rather it was Fulham.

An English Star is Born West Ham 2-1 Blackburn (Video)

West Ham, Famous for its Academy, gives birth to another new English Star called Freddie Sears.

Freddie Sears marked his senior debut for West Ham by scoring the winner in the 81st minute. Sears headed into goal on the rebound after Blackburn goalkeeper Brad Friedel saved his first shot. West Ham had lost its three previous league games by a 4-0 scoreline and went behind in the 19th minute when Roque Santa Cruz scored with a header. West Ham leveled in the 39th minute through Dean Ashton. The Hammers stay in 10th place, while Blackburn remains in eighth.
Dean Ashton played a almost perfect game, and gave the Hammers a day to remember, and was my Man of the Match.

I think Curbs must have read Roosters comment on the 13th

A majority of the fans would love to see sears get at least 20 mins, if we can muster up a decent lead on Blackburn maybe Curbs will give him his chance.
He might turn out and score a goal, it would be nice to at least once this month to go home smiling

All we need now is for Spurs to draw with Man City.

Hammers & England Star back against Blackburn

Matty Upson will be back to bring some pride back to the dismal West Ham defence, in a boost for Saturdays game against Blackburn.

Curbishley will be hoping now that Upson is back, the results might improve after losing 3 consecutive 4-0 defeats.

Curbishley said

“You need some experience when you’ve had the set of results we’ve had,” insisted Curbishley.

“When you’ve lost three

Green: Its not going to be easy Facing the Fans on Saturday!

Robert Green has failed to save 12 goals his games against Chelsea, Liverpool & Spurs and is ready to face criticism on the teams poor run of results.

‘We’ve had three bad results and everyone is going to get flak for it - we’re under no illusions about that,’

Green said.

‘But, if you look at it we’re in 10th place. If you look at where

Mathematically: The end of season Pts: Arsenal Man Utd Chelsea Portsmouth Man City Liverpool Aston Villa Blackburn Everton

Be prepared to fall asleep on the keyboard

As the season starts to wind down in England, the battle for European spots heats up. All the focus lately has been on who will claim that 4th and final Champions League spot. Liverpool are always the favorites for European play but if their form doesn’t pick up – there are a host of other teams set to swoop in. Of course, someone has to miss out so I’ve decided to take a statistical look at who COULD finish in that 4th position. Not who will – but who could.

————————————————————–

————————————————————–

Lets begin with some historical data. Over the past four seasons Arsenal, Liverpool & Everton have claimed 4th spot (Arsenal the past two seasons). Last season the Gunners finished with 68pts, the season before that they had 67pts. In 2004/2005, Everton secured a Champions League spot (very briefly) on 61pts. Prior to that it was Liverpool in 2003/2004 finishing on 60pts. Averaging it out, over the past four seasons the point total needed to secure the final spot is 64pts.

Now lets look at the run out for the final ten games for each team from places 4th through 10th – all of whom have a shot at 4th spot. Everton were sitting 4th heading into the current round on 44pts and are averaging 1.76pts per game. If we use that number, the Toffees should be on about 49pts with ten games left (1.76 X 28 games). Over the past four years they’ve averaged 11.5pts over that last ten games giving them a total of 61pts (11.5 + 49) at the close. If you take their average (1.76 X 38) you get 67pts – so they are looking at a potential 6pts (61pts – 67pts = -6) difference between the pace of this season and their historical average over the past four years.

In their final ten games, Everton play 4th spot rivals West Ham, Liverpool & Aston Villa – with two of those at home. They also play the bottom five teams – but they also play Arsenal & Chelsea. Those two games could be the difference between 4th spot and 5th spot.

Liverpool also face three 4th place rival sides down the stretch – Everton, Blackburn & Manchester City. The thing helping Liverpool most though is the fact they play each of those games at Anfield. Granted, their home form hasn’t been that great this season but you’d have to think that gives them a slight edge in each of those games. From 24-rounds of play, Liverpool are at 43pts (1.79 average) and they have the game at hand on everyone they are fighting
