Donadoni a Clear Winner

Firstly i couldn’t stop laughing and nearly wetting myself laughing when i read the Daily Mail EXCLUSIVE article about Donadoni being at West Ham, it was hardly exclusive it was published 2 hours after it was published on here at 2:31pm. ah well that’s the Daily Mail for you, absolute crap.

It hasn’t taken long for a clear favourite to emerge in the race to become the new manager of West Ham. It looks as if all bets are off are the bookies have shortened former Italian national coach Roberto Donadoni to just 1/2 fav It seems the Italian influence behind the scenes at Upton Park are about to dispense with tradition and appoint the club’s first non-British manager. If it’s not Donadoni then it appears certain the next boss will at least be Italian with 4 of the top 5 candidates the netting hailing from Italy. Next in line behind Donadoni are Roberto Mancini (4/1, Slaven Bilic (8/1, Gianfranco Zola (10/1 and Paulo Di Canio (16/1. The leading English contender is Sam Allardyce at 16/1.

I expect we will hear soem news about the new manager in the next xouple of days.

Warrior Midfielder arriving at West Ham on Wednesday

According to T&T Newsday, Trinidad and Tobago international Keon Daniel will be having a one week trial on Wednesday at West Ham.

The Tobago-born player, has had some training with Manchester United in the past, got word of West Ham’s interest from an associate of the club, And after subsequent follow ups, the invitation was extended for Daniel to attend the trial. It is understood that Daniel caught the eye of scouts when Trinidad and Tobago played England in the Centennial Match on June 1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.
Daniel though will be hoping to not only impress West Ham boss Alan Curbishley during the trial but he will also be keeping his fingers crossed over a work permit application should the club decide on making him an offer.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for me and it’s one I’m looking forward to. I’m not worried as once I get over there I will give it my best and show what I can do,”

Daniel said.

Newcastle and Sunderland Battle for £7m Ferdinand

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is reportedly interested in Anton Ferdinand. The West Ham United defender has been linked with a move away from the club for over two months; the Black Cats are set to make a last ditch effort to bring the England Under-21 defender to Wearside.

Sunderland will be expected to pay in the region of around £7 million for Ferdinand, who had been hotly tipped to join Tottenham earlier in the summer.

It does now appear that Sunderland have jumped to the head of the queue, after Spurs apparently opted to sign midfielders as opposed to defensive signings.

Newcastle’s Keegan  will also be monitoring Ferdinand’s position very closely, and are expected to make an offer for the player very soon which may outbid the Black Cats.
