John Terry sends message to England Absentees
Nov 19, 2008 Chelsea, Injuries, Matches, West Ham News, england
I would rarely have anything good to say about John Terry as a Chelsea player but as an England player today i have nothing but pride and respect for the guy.
After missing 2 crucial games for England through a back problem he made it his personal gaol not to miss the game against Germany tonight in Berlin.
Such was his patriotism John Terry put himself through a fitness test in his own back garden to make sure he was ready to take on Germany tonight and only 5 days after suffering an injury playing for Chelsea against WBA, Terry was certain he had damaged a bone due to so much pain but later to be given the all clear from his doctor, John Terry said:
“On Saturday, I was thinking I had broken a bone in my foot, what with having the experience of doing it against Arsenal last year and knowing what the pain feels like.
“I was really worried that night because I was desperate to play for England, especially after missing the two games last month.
“We booked a scan for 8am in the morning, but I was woken up at 6.30am by my kids (he has two-year-old twins) and I decided to do my own fitness test with them in the garden while it was pouring down with rain.
“I went for a little jog and I was fine. I phoned the doctor and told him I didn’t need the scan. I was thinking of going back to bed, but he told me to have it anyway just to make sure. I was delighted to get the all-clear afterwards.”
Capello has warned England absentees that avoiding friendlies could cost them their regular places as England players.
Premier Managers Benitez and Wenger has slammed the England game as waste of time due to it being months before the next England international.
John Terry sees this match as a stepping stone for the fellow Lions Scott Parker from West Ham United, Shaun Wright-Phillips, and Glen Johnson for whom he has great admiration, Terry said:
“I have stayed in touch with them and have enjoyed seeing them do well. Scott has done great at West Ham, Johnno at Portsmouth and Shaun at Manchester City.
“I was sad to see them go, but they have all benefited from playing regularly elsewhere.”
My hat goes off to John Terry and his cubs playing against England’s auld Enemy Germany, a win for England would bring shame to England’s absentees and pride to the faithful and the patriots.

Scott Parker Challenge sends Theo Walcott to Hospital
Nov 19, 2008 Arsenal, Injuries, Scott Parker, West Ham News, england
Walcott adds to England’s and Arsenal’s injury problems after he dislocated his shoulder in a tackle against Scott Parker near the end of Tuesday nights training session at the Olympic Stadium.
Walcott was rushed to hospital where his shoulder was put back into place.
Theo Walcott will fly home to London where Arsenal Medics will assess how bad the injury is and could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks.
Capello told the media:
“Our priority is Theo and making him as comfortable as possible before he returns to England,” said Capello. “We’re all very disappointed, but the most important thing is for Theo to travel home and make a quick recovery.”
Walcott’s place will more than likely be given to Shaun Wright-Phillips, West Ham United’s Scott Parker played well during training but is yet to find out if he plays on Wednesday Evening.

Fulham v West Ham United: Video highlights and Zola manager of the Month
Sep 28, 2008 Fulham, Gianfranco Zola, Steve Clarke, West Ham News
Zola could and should be the Manager of the month, 2 games 2 wins and has kept his promise of making football for the West Ham fans enjoyable and attractive.
It was good to see West Ham continue their winning ways under new manager Gianfranco Zola with victory over Fulham today.
Two goals in the final three minutes of the first half turned out to be decisive, with Carlton Cole and then Matthew Etherington finding the net.
There was still time for Fulham striker Andrew Johnson to be sent off before the half-time whistle was blown, but a great day for Cole rewarding Zola back for his midweek fine and Ethers showing Capello that in time he could be wearing an England shirt if his performance stays as good as it has been under the influence of Zola and Clarke.

Try again in 4 Years Guys!
Aug 25, 2008 West Ham News
That’s what will be going through the minds of Robert Green, Mathew Upson, and Dean Aston hoping for any chance of an inclusion into the England squad.
Fabio Cappelo was desperate to find some fire power to brighten up the England squad and wanted to look outside the top 4 for some raw talent, and what a better match to go to then Man City v West Ham, full of English talent.
I dare say in the first 3 minutes Cappelo must have been slightly excited with West Ham turning out some classy moves in midfield, but then man City turned on the pressure and played the ball from defence in 2 to 3 immaculate passes and running rings around the West Ham midfield.
What did Capello think? probably the same as most West Ham fans thought, What a waste of 90 minutes! and no chance playing for England

One of my Proudest Moments! Englands Future
Feb 6, 2008 West Ham News
England’s Future
ANDREW Surman described running onto the St Mary’s pitch in an England shirt last night as “one of the proudest moments” of his career.
The Saints star was restricted to a late cameo, as he replaced Mark Noble in the 85th minute of England U21s 3-0 win against Republic of Ireland. But that did not make the night any less special for the 21-year-old.
“It’s probably one of the proudest moments of my career to be honest, to run out in front of your own fans in your own stadium for England, it doesn’t really get much better,”
he said.
“It’s amazing to actually think you’ve got your name on the back of a shirt with the Three Lions on it and playing for your country.
“You dream of it, but you never really think it’s going to happen, but you just keep plugging away and I’m just grateful that I’ve got the opportunity as well.
“When the manager called me to say I was coming on it was great to take my top off and put my England shirt on and I’m sure it was a proud moment for my family as well.
“I don’t expect the manager to give me any favours. I was just pleased I was in the squad first and foremost and then to get five minutes even was great.”
Surman praised the Saints fans watching in the capacity crowd for the reception they gave him.
“It was really nice, the Saints fans are brilliant here and it was really nice they applauded me when I came on,” he said.
“It was a good turnout and it reflects well on the club.”
A fantastic proud kid, but out of everything he said, the most important was “It’s amazing to actually think you’ve got your name on the back of a shirt with the Three Lions on it and playing for your country,” now this is how every England player should be feeling!! and i think Capello will make sure of that.
If England tonight do as well as the young Under 21’s, than maybe we have a future in major international football
Whats your predictions for tonight’s game, and who do you think will be man of the match?
