West Ham mean nothing to me!
Nov 27, 2008 West Ham News
Maybe West Ham should have sent this miserable little Argentinian back to Brazil 2 years ago when Pardew could not find a role for him in his top 11 players.
Javier Mascherano had an awful game on Wednesday against Marseille and now is eager for his team mates at Liverpool to Dazzle West Ham into losing, is this the Liverpool that drew with Fulham last week?
Mascherano said:
“I’m pleased that West Ham brought me to England and gave me the chance to play in this country — it helped me earn a move to Liverpool, but that’s all. All that matters to me now is Liverpool,”
the 24-year-old Mascherano said.
“I don’t feel anything for West Ham. It’s nothing in my life because I couldn’t play when I was there. They are just another team in the Premier League.
“The fans at Upton Park were very good for me when I was there but I couldn’t play. It’s not like River (Plate) or Corinthians where I played and won titles and I have an affection.”
“It was not the best performance but sometimes it’s important to win when not playing well,”
Mascherano said.
“It’s the way to win trophies. We did the job and now maybe we can focus on the Premier League because we know we are qualified.
“If we hadn’t won the confidence would be a little bit down, but we need to improve.”
I have to admit the Playmaker is right West Ham fans are good to players who perform 100% and thats why Tevez will always be close to our hearts, but as for Mascherano I seriously cannot think of anything good that he did for the Mighty Hammers.

West Ham United V’s Everton (A Hole in Midfield)
Nov 8, 2008 Everton, Matches, West Ham News
Not quite the results West Ham deserved in their last 5 games considering how well the Hammers played, but unfortunately mistakes are made and points are lost, but the Hammers could turn it around by learning from mistakes and continue playing attacking football the Zola way, The return of Parker will be great news for the Hammers.
Everton is not part of West Ham’s difficult run of games. Everton are a good team though, Cahill and Arteta are doubtful for the West Ham game due to injury together with Fellaini will leave Everton’s midfield wide open, so West Ham definitely have a chance to keep it interesting. Everton will be playing with confidence after 2 x 1-0 wins. this match go either way.
PREDICTION LEAGUE:
West Ham United 2-1 Everton 55.5%
West Ham United 2-0 Everton 33.3%
West Ham United 0-1 Everton 11.2%

Not Worried!
Nov 1, 2008 Gianfranco Zola, Injuries, Middlesborough, West Ham News
Zola has admitted to the Telegraph that he is not worried about 4 losses in a row, all that matters is that the players are playing well and need a win to bring back the confidence of scoring goals.
He said to the Telegraph:
“I know what the situation is and I’m not worried. I know how the team is playing and that gives me enough confidence to keep on smiling. You go through times like these where it’s not easy with four bad results. Of course I worry. I have my moments but they are overcome straight away.
“I always had the belief that results will come through playing good football, although in the last four games we have not won any points. I trust what we’re doing and we’ll be OK soon.”
I am pleased that he still has confidence in the team but as a commentor SAM H said, is the 4-3-3 system working? some key players out injured make the 4-3-3 system quite weak.
We must beat Boro today not only beat them we need a good result, we have only scored 1 goal in the last 4 games.
Zola added:
“This team are not playing as if they are going to have problems with relegation,” he said. “We’re playing well. We just need some confidence which will come through results.
Nothing will annoy fans more than watching Spurs climb the league ladder and eventually be above us, so C’Mon Zola get our team back to winning ways.

Lacklustre and Confidence - Lets learn from this!
Oct 20, 2008 West Ham News
The game against Hull City was a game West Ham could learn from.
Overall Hull City beat us with a style many Premier League clubs can learn the art of counter attack even though i thought we could have won this game 2-1 or even 3-1 if we took advantage of the goals that my 12 year old son could have scored, they also showed great confidence.
Zola played his part as manager perfectly in my view and we so easily should be singing his praises today but the boys let him down in the 2nd half with a lacklustre performance which made us lose by a solitary goal.
It was great to see Bellamy play a full game but i am a bit surprised to why Di Michele was on the bench until the 73rd minute.
I think we should learn from this game, saying that, a smile was brought back to my face at full time between Stoke and Spurs.

I went to the wrong Match! West Ham v Bolton
Oct 6, 2008 Bolton, West Ham News
Reading some of the rags makes me wonder if I watched the same match as the persons who wrote the articles.
The Independent headlines: West Ham 1 Bolton 3: Error-strewn Green hands Bolton an easy victory. Hardly an easy victory, West Ham dominated most of the game with some fine passing football and possession, I must have missed that match!
Fair enough Green did make a couple of blunders which in his case is very rare, we usually only see those kind of mistakes made my David James and without those blunders Bolton would probably not have won.
Zola was right when he shouted to lads on the pitch “Chin Up” losing confidence after a goal is what West Ham is renown for.
Green was not the only person who made mistakes, Noble and Faubert lacked concentration and led to some silly passes to the opposition.
Overall i was pleased with the style skill we played, Zola promised us entertaining football and that,s what we got, as Zola said ” Winning every game is not important, its not War, but entertaining football is” and to me, entertainment is what i want each season when i pay for my season ticket.
Great game, well done to Bolton but hardly an easy win.

Wage reduction for Sick Notes
Oct 1, 2008 West Ham News
It is sometimes inevitable that a player gets injured in the course of his duty playing for his club and a long term injury to a player can damage a clubs standings in its league, this is why new clauses may come into players contracts when signing for team.
For instance Dean Ashton, Craig Bellamy, Kieron Dyer, all 3 have spent many months out injured and in some cases they are old injuries from their past clubs coming back to haunt them.
The SPL board wishes to place injured stars on a reduced wage for a set period of time, and, should they still be unavailable once that has elapsed, they will
find themselves on sick pay rather than their full weekly wage which is
what currently happens.
Sick Pay is common for the likes of us in the public that feign illness or injury even if this happens whilst working, so why should it not be common for players.
Brining this clause into a contract will obviously have the players union ranting and raving but it will save clubs probably millions each year and also give the club the option of brining in another player to temporary fill the injured players place.
In the case of Dean Ashton, i feel we are pretty well covered but what happens if Cole falls ill or gets injured?
In the case of Craig Bellamy who without doubt is great player but is getting very close to be playing more games for wales than he has for West Ham United.
Kieron Dyer another good player and i am sure is raring to get back to full time football and when he does it will take another good few months to gain his confidence back as it did with Ashton.

Curbishley: He will take the Premier League by Storm
Aug 22, 2008 West Ham News
Alan Curbishley is over the moon with Behrami and his style of play. The versatile right back is what West Ham need to aim for a higher position in the league than last season.
Curbishley told the media
“He’s got all the attributes for the English game,” insisted Curbishley. “He’ll enjoy the intensity of the Premier League.
“He’s been thrown in straight away and shown his versatility.
“A lot of foreign players struggle to deal with the pace of the game but Behrami has got what it takes to succeed.”
Behrami was signed under the influence of Gianluca Nani who has said that there will be more signings once all parties have agreed to a deal, He said
“We are looking to add to the squad but getting someone to say yes is tough,”
A recent fracas between Nani and Curbs has been found to be unfounded and just press speculation.
West Ham will be playing Man City on Sunday, Ashton should be fit and with luck scoring scorching goals as he did last Saturday.
The Hammers will certainly be confident and confidence brings the best out of everyone.
