Pathetic or just bad luck? Man City 3 - 0 West Ham United
Aug 24, 2008 Man City, Matches, West Ham News
Today’s game against the blues was nothing short of pathetic, Noble getting himself a red card left a struggling Hammers side in an even worse predicament.
The Hammers were very reminiscent of the second half of last season which proves that more players are needed. So what do we need? without doubt we have to get a creative midfielder who can at least get some balls into Ashton or Bellamy when fit, we definitely need a striker, somebody with a proven record that will compete for place with Bellamy and Ashton.
If we stay as we are now with the players we have i cant even see us reaching 10th place, it is still early days yet and we may beat Blackburn 3-0 next week.
I did not expect a win today, but i did expect to see a fairly good performance which i am sure would have made us all happy, but instead we played rubbish football, rubbish passing and we was very lucky to only suffer a 3-0 defeat.
Curbishley cannot be pleased with his tactics on this game and will probably blame the loss because we have players out injured, and then i dare say he will say he needs judging only when he has a fully fit squad.

Hopes and Joys for the Season Ahead!
Aug 14, 2008 West Ham News
Hopes are by end of OCT 2008 we are and should be in the top 6, the first 8 games will probably be the easiest we will have all season, and we should accumulate around 18+ pts by OCT 19th.
More hopes are that Curbishley has finally got the team all fit and ready to conquer every game we play, injuries in the team has always been his excuse for failure, lets hope he gets his dream and prove us all wrong.
Hopes are, the red tops get off our backs and only write how amazing the West Ham squad are.
Lets hope LBM and Cole are leading goal scorers by Xmas, and the fans are singing Boa Mortes name with praise.
Joys are we finish the season in 6th place and Spurs are relegated along with Newcastle and Wigan.
More Joys would be that West Ham have decided to redevelop The Boleyn Ground to make it into a 50,000 seater stadium to be ready by start of season 2010
This is my hopes and Joys for this season, its more like a dream, what’s yours?

Joining us or Not?
Jul 22, 2008 Talks, Transfer Rumours, Transfers, West Ham News
I would have thought that Eidur Gudjohnsen would have made his mind up by now about not only joining West Ham but also if he still has a career at Barcelona, if it be the latter then good luck to him, but if he is holding out for a better offer with West Ham, then we should look elsewhere.
One of Eidur’s conditions on joining us would be that he is guaranteed 1st team football, and that is something we know Curbishley is not going to guarantee any of his players, but if he is as good as he is meant to be then 1st team football should not be a problem.
I know its still early yet and there is plenty of time for new signings, but i do hope we do not leave it until the last minute and then pay what Gudjohnsen demands and then we find out why barca made the decision to let him go was that he just isn’t good enough anymore, so c’mon Euidur are you joining us or not?

West Ham Captain Lucas Neill: Man City come and get Me!
Jul 13, 2008 Transfer Rumours
According to the Australian News Media & a Well known British Sunday Rag, Man City are to make a bid of £1.6m after a plea from the Hammers captain Lucas Neill.
West Ham are looking at ways to cut the extreme wage bill down, and Lucas Neill is one of the high wage earners with earnings of around £55k a week.
It is beleived that Curbishley is trying to comprimise with Lucas over a new wage agreement but with offers coming from clubs such as Galatasaray & Man City it may prove to be a mission just to keep Lucas at Upton Park.
Lucas Neill used to play under Mark Hughs at Blackburn and will have first hand knowledge of his old star player, so if the rumours turns out to be true, it could be Neill wearing a sky blue Man City kit instead of the Sky Blue Hammers away kit in the new season.

A Gud Move!
Jul 11, 2008 West Ham News
Eidur Gudjohnsens agent has said that he would prefer a move to either Manchester or London.
Curbishley failed to get the fella the first time round, but with
the news of the iceman wanting one option to move to London, surely
this will raise Curbishleys hopes of getting him. And with Zamora on
his way soon, this rumour will hot up and become more realistic.
It’s all quiet at West Ham at the moment, yet despite this, it does
not mean something isn’t going on behind the scenes. I remember when
Faubert signed for us, it came from out of the blue.

Ljungberg: Arsenal are my past, West Ham is my Future!
Jun 4, 2008 West Ham News
Freddie Ljungberg would never say a bad word about his old team Arsenal, and every Hammers knows that,
Russian newspapers stating that he slated Wenger was a load of Bollox to sell newspapers and and cause media hype, and the rubbish story did what it was meant to do.
But i am seriously impressed with Ljungberg of late, and especially his response to the sad Russian media, his response was
“I haven’t done an interview with this Russian newspaper and none of the quotes have any substance, I certainly didn’t make those comments.”
His agent said
“His move to West Ham was inspired by the vision for the club and the strong interest from Alan Curbishley.
“The suggestion that Freddie left Arsenal in order to stay in the Premiership and play against them is not only utter rubbish but is a complete falsehood.”
Now i am not a great lover of Wenger or Arsenal, but he is a

No more feeding

Over the years we have had to endure seeing top players moving on to the so called top four. We never had a chance of holding onto the likes of Ferdinand etc, and over the years our beloved club has been up and down like a fiddlers elbow. Now a spark of light in the form of our new owner BG has given us hope for a bright future, with a sound and careful plan of pushing West Ham to greater heights over the next few years. Yet despite this, out come the rumours from the media about certain players in our squad moving on; one example being Dean Ashton. This rumour has now put many fans on edge, leading them to believe Deano will leave if offered a chance by you know who at the top. This has opened up old wounds in many fans, and it’s understandable considering the players we have had to let go in the

So who’s going part 2

OK, very interesting so far, let me work through the squad. Read the rest of this entry »
Lucas Neill, I thought that when we signed him he settled us done big time at the back, but if BG wants to cut wages he could be under threat.
Anton Ferdinand, is a good player but is never going to be a Rio, he is very prone to make a mistake at the wrong time, but is complimented by Matthew Upson, who I am sorry to say is not England class, he too often gets the wrong side of opponents, just think of the number of times in this season when the pair of them have been chasing an opposing forward bearing down on goal. We need someone of stature to talk the back line through and let one of them go.
George McCartney for me has got better and better, and it would be a shame to lose him. His future will be very much guided by what the board are going to do with the ‘transfer pot’ if they show a lack of ambition we could well cash in on him with Nicky Shorey coming in to replace him. Julien Faubert we have to give more time, I know he’s been injured but I haven’t found him particularly inspirational when he has played, I was expecting someone who would dominate the opposing left back, and that hasn’t happened. Lee Bowyer is one to go. I like Lee he’s got a big heart, but he’s no longer premiership standard. Personally I like Hayden Mullins, the position he plays rarely attracts the plaudits, but he is honest and puts in a lot of effort. I have lot of time for Scottie Parker, he should be able to run our midfield along with Mark Noble, but they need to be given the freedom to work ‘box to box’ as a pair. Matthew Etherington I felt would be ‘out of is depth’ in the premiership, but at times has been good, but now seems to be unable to have the impact that he had previously. In all honesty we need wide players that can open up defences for us, watch the transfer market. You have to ask yourself regarding Freddie Lundberg why Arsenal didn’t work harder to keep him, and I think looking at his displays, he rarely has the same sparkle. We can get sentimental at this point and say he could come good, but we are competing in the same league as Arsenal, do we always want their ‘cast offs’ or do we really have no ambition. LBM can at times be
