For a few brief moments back there on Wednesday night I saw a side to Scott’s character that made me concerned. Did I really want our midfield talisman to exhibit the blatant aggression of a Robbie Savage or a Roy Keane? It seemed incongruous with his stylish and accomplished confidence of recent months. Yes, he’s always been committed and eager to track back or get in a tackle, but do we really want to see the flared nostrils and the uncontained rage that so surely could have reduced us to 9 men and cost us the game?
Having said all of that, how refreshing to see such passion in a modern day footballer – and particularly one in a claret ‘n’ blue shirt.
I guess I’m ambivalent.
