Here we go Again! The Magic Roundabout

West Ham are on the verge of playing their 8th game and could be in 4th place by 5pm today.

Etherington plays his 150th game for the Hammers, and Mullins Plays his 200th game.

Some great headlines for the Red Tops to use for this weekend, but what headlines do they use?

HAMMERS RESCUE HITS TROUBLE - News of the World. Evidently West Ham have no idea who their owner is and maybe it is now the British government, The Sub Header reads:

A £125MILLION rescue of stricken West Ham is in danger of collapse because no one knows who now controls the teetering Upton Park club.

And this Headline.

£2.5m SPUR FOR PARKER - The People. Now this is the funniest, West Ham are so desperate for money that we will bend over backwards to accept an amazing sum of £2.5m from Spurs for Parker, The sub Header reads:

Tottenham are ready to take advantage of a West Ham ‘fire sale’ with a £2.5m bid for Scott Parker.

Believe me, even the Spurs fans will be laughing at that story.

Some facts for the Red Tops,

(1) West Ham are owned by WH Holdings, which is based in Britain and 100% a British company, this is a British Company and not Icelandic.

(2) West Ham have no intentions of selling players that are necessary to take the club to European status, Bonuses and awards for finishing in the top 6 far out weighs the measly sums made up for players transfers by the media.

Troubled we are? YES. Desperate we are? NO
At 5pm today you will definitely have a better story.

What a Player! 150 Games for West Ham United and Improving

Tomorrows game against Hull City marks the 150th game that Mathew Etherington will have played for West Ham United after joining the Hammers in 2003 from Spurs for an undisclosed fee.

We have seen a great improvement with Ethers under the influence of Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke and even to the point where many fans think Ethers is good enough for England.

Ethers is pretty certain to be included in the game against Hull City on Sunday and an early goal by the Hammers could be what ends Hull City’s magic start of the season and push West Ham into the top 3 or 4.

West Ham are only 2nd to Man City for Goals scored in the League which shows we have the players that can get the Goals.

My Prediction is Hull City 1 - 2 West Ham United

Green Suffers Injury Setback

Robert Green has pulled out of the England squad and may be out of Sunday’s game for West Ham United against Hull City due to a slight knee injury.

Green was not involved in England’s 5-1 win over Kazakhstan on Saturday, where David James played and Scott Carson was on the bench.

West Ham United v Bolton Wanderers: The Goal That Never Was!

West Ham’s little giant Gianfranco Zola is a quick learner. The Italian is understandably happy with West Ham since he took over 3 weeks ago.

Today, the Hammers play Bolton who are still upset at the way they lost to Manchester United last week, referee Rob Styles has apologised for his stupid decision in giving United a penalty that never was, Gartside will already have his legal team sharpening their knives over Rob Styles bad decision, the only humour i find with this is, the FA are the cause of this ridiculous legal controversy and in doing so have made a rod for there own back.

Last season, Styles also came under fire after he awarded Chelsea a non-existent penalty against Liverpool at Anfield.

The clever guys at the Prediction League give this as a 2-1 win to the Hammers.

And for those who made a small donation, will recieve the quality links to tomorrows game live in glorious quality.

Change of Luck for Newcastle?

We at West Ham have sympathy for the Newcastle fans and wish them a speedy recovery from the disappointing behaviour of their owner Mr Ashley.

But whilst wishing the magpies well, we do hope their luck does not change for the better this weekend at the cost of West Ham losing a match.

Ashton will not be playing this Saturday and its 50/50 that even Bellamy could be out too, i can here the Geordie fans sighs of relief already, but could the new attacking West Ham under the guidance of Zola and Clarkey be too much for the magpies to handle? as it seems the Newcastle defence is easy to crumble under too much pressure.

West ham were much the better team last week for 70 minutes against WBA, but fatigue cost the Hammers the game in the last few minutes, Fatigue and fitness is something that Zola and Clarke have been working on with the team all week.

As much as we, the fans of West Ham United wish Newcastle the best of luck, we also hope your best luck starts on Sunday 21st.

Why the Rush for Zola?

Why on earth are we seemingly in such a rush to appoint the new manager before the West Brom game? The timing of trying to talk to Bilic could not be worse as he is preparing for what is arguably his biggest game yet as manager so why not wait until next week and speak to him?

The appointment of Zola can only produce two possible outcomes that I can see;
1st (and most likely) he will make a complete balls-up of it and we will be no better off than we were with Curbs or 2nd he will do well and use his time at West Ham as practice for the job he really wants which is to manage Chelski.

Remember what happened when England went for their second choice? They got Maclaren!

The Wanderers lose to Freddie Sears

A West Ham XI played behind closed doors yesterday in a friendly game against Wycombe Wanderers.

Freddie Sears scored the only goals in which West Ham won 2-0 against Wycombe Wanderers, The West Ham team also played James Tomkins Nigel Quashie and luis Boa Morte.

Sears and Tomkins will be hoping to get a chance to play some 1st team matches this season and hopefuly next season to start being regulars for the team.

Sears understands that it will take time and some experience under his belt before he becomes West Ham’s number 1 striker, but with his skills and talent, i could say that would be very soon.

Pathetic or just bad luck? Man City 3 - 0 West Ham United

Today’s game against the blues was nothing short of pathetic, Noble getting himself a red card left a struggling Hammers side in an even worse predicament.

The Hammers were very reminiscent of the second half of last season which proves that more players are needed. So what do we need? without doubt we have to get a creative midfielder who can at least get some balls into Ashton or Bellamy when fit, we definitely need a striker, somebody with a proven record that will compete for place with Bellamy and Ashton.

If we stay as we are now with the players we have i cant even see us reaching 10th place, it is still early days yet and we may beat Blackburn 3-0 next week.

I did not expect a win today, but i did expect to see a fairly good performance which i am sure would have made us all happy, but instead we played rubbish football, rubbish passing and we was very lucky to only suffer a 3-0 defeat.

Curbishley cannot be pleased with his tactics on this game and will probably blame the loss because we have players out injured, and then i dare say he will say he needs judging only when he has a fully fit squad.

A New Era for West Ham United

It is great news to hear that Dean Ashton should be fit for the game against Man City, The official WHUFC website have  said that he had little more than cramp.

But more to what this post is really about, there seems to be something strange about this season and the build up to it, We have made very little in the way of signings, the supporters have been very frustrated more than we have been for years after a decent finish to a season like last season, BG has shown very little interest in the club to what he usually does, BG brought in Gianluca Nani in June to improve the quality of signings to which I haven’t seen any unless we are to believe that Berhami is Nani’s trump card for this season.

Am i worried? am i concerned? the answer is no, for once i think we are making the right moves to secure a better future for our club, and lets be realistic, we are a mediocre club that wants to be better and like any business we have to take one step at a time, this is why i think this could be a new era for us Hammers.

Redknapp or Curbishley?

I was very pleased with yesterdays results, Lets be honest could it have been a better day, We Won, Spurs Lost, that’s what i call an ideal day of football. Ours was not the best of games but we saw some nice work from Faubert, and Ashton scoring 2 beauties.

Curbishley is again hitting the headlines to be the 1st manager sacked is getting very boring now, and to add a cherry to the cake, the red tops have come up with an absolute rubbish story that Redknapp would be next in line to manage West Ham if and when Curbs does go.

I cant say i would be over the moon to have harry back, we need to go forward not back 7 years, Curbs still deserves some time to play with a fit squad, when that will be is a mystery, with Ashton limping off late in the game on Saturday which we only hope is cramp.

We need to see if Curbs can get us off to a good start with the 1st 8 games and then judge him on that, Redknapp has waited 7 years, i am sure he could wait another year, thats if we really want him?
