Time for the Hammers to Shine against Chelsea and make Liverpool stay Top!
Interesting game today with the game between Chelsea and West Ham.
I have to start my preview with reminder of what happened yesterday – all of Chelsea competitors for the title made draws, so now it seems the time for the Blues to go on top…But will they..
The Blues are 2 points behind Pool and a win today will send them on the first place befor the start of the overloaded Christmas schedule.
I think this will cause great pressure on Scolari boys, and I have to say Chelsea is not doing well playing under pressure this season. The most fresh example is the midweek CL game with Cluj. Chelsea needed a win to qualify and having in mind the opponent and the fact the game was played at the Bridge an easy win was expected. But the Blues won hardly 2:1 and I think CFR is much under Chelsea class.
I can add to this the 3 games Chelsea played this season with top 4 teams – only 1 point won from 9 possible – awful record for the Blues.
Another trend is forming this season – Blues are not feeling so secure at home – they have 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 loses at the Bridge. I think this season they lost more points at home after 16 rounds, than in the last 2 – 3 seasons…
For the game today the Blues will be without Malouda, Di Santo, Carvalho and Essien.
West Ham are on the 16th place in the table with 18 points. It seems in the last few rounds the game of the team is improving – from the last 3 games team won 4 points – one from Pool at Anfield and 3 from Sunderland at Stadium of Light. From these we can say that the team is performing well far from home.
This game will be very special for Zola – he’s back to the place he was hero several years ago, but this time his role will be to ‘Manage’ against his former side.
For the game today Hammers are still without Ashton and Dyer, but Sears, Etherington and Collison are back to the squad.
The last 2 games played between these teams here ended 1:0 for Chelsea. With the pressure from the expected sure win today, I think is likely Chelsea to mistake today.
We should not forget that Hammers are among the teams that won a game against the Blues at Stamford Bridge, before the start of Mourinho unbeaten home record.
I will go for the Hammers to scrape a win 1-0.
The son in Law is a Liverpool fan but for today only is routing for the Hammers.
