There are many good points about Zola being our new manager, probably the best will be the likelihood of buying some of Italy’s finest under 21 players in the January transfer window.
An interesting and slightly funny article in the guardian said:
The first thing Gianfranco Zola will do as West Ham manager is to find a comfy chair for his office. The second thing he’ll do is sign Italian U-21 player Francesco Bolzoni, a player whose footballing talent is so pure they actually use it to baptise babies in some parts of Naples. Bolzoni will cost around £7m.
Well lets hope that is true, i would seriously like to see quality Italian youngsters joining up with our players like Sears, Tomkins, Hines, Noble, Collison,etc..
Firstly i couldn’t stop laughing and nearly wetting myself laughing when i read the Daily Mail EXCLUSIVE article about Donadoni being at West Ham, it was hardly exclusive it was published 2 hours after it was published on here at 2:31pm. ah well that’s the Daily Mail for you, absolute crap.
It hasn’t taken long for a clear favourite to emerge in the race to become the new manager of West Ham. It looks as if all bets are off are the bookies have shortened former Italian national coach Roberto Donadoni to just 1/2 fav It seems the Italian influence behind the scenes at Upton Park are about to dispense with tradition and appoint the club’s first non-British manager. If it’s not Donadoni then it appears certain the next boss will at least be Italian with 4 of the top 5 candidates the netting hailing from Italy. Next in line behind Donadoni are Roberto Mancini (4/1, Slaven Bilic (8/1, Gianfranco Zola (10/1 and Paulo Di Canio (16/1. The leading English contender is Sam Allardyce at 16/1.
I expect we will hear soem news about the new manager in the next xouple of days.
Great news from WHUFC website with the signings ofItaly striker David Di Michele and Congolese left-back Herita Ilunga, subject to registration at the Premier League and also youngster Hungarian youth international striker Balint Bajner on a season-long loan with a view to a possible permanent transfer, wit also a possibility of Appia, WHUFC are saying talks are still ongoing.
The West Ham trials were a big plus for David Obua on Friday with our pre season training schedule.
Kaizer Chiefs Defender/Midfielder arrived from Africa on Thursday on what most people thought was a trip to Hearts to join his old coach Laszlo Csaba, but it turned out he had an invitation to trials with the West Ham boys.
An unamed source from the West Ham camp said that Obua did well and was quite impressive.
Obua can play defence or midfield and had been linked to Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb, Italian Serie B side Brescia, Orlando Pirates, and other sides from Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Tunisia and Egypt.
Obua said to the Media:
“As a professional, I have to weigh my options and make a decision. I have many offers, but I’m not about to rush,”
Obua said
“One thing is for sure, I’m not returning to South Africa. I have nothing to prove in South Africa because I believe I’ve won everything as an individual. I need a new challenge that will only be realised in Europe.”
Im sure Slaven Bilic found this article posted in the Croation Newsmedia Javno a little bit humorous.
The Italian newspaper 24 Minuti used a photo of Croatian trainer Slaven Bilic to illustrate the news on Macedonian reporter murderer.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - The Italian newspaper 24 Minuti wrongly illustrated a text on the suicide of the Macedonian murderer reporter, Vlado Tanevski, with a photograph of the Croatian football trainer Slaven Bilic. The mentioned newspaper is issued three times a day and is for free.
Beneath the photograph of the Croatian coach there is a text which confirms that the the man in the picture is the Macedonian murderer from the newspaper Utrinski Vensnik, where the criminal worked.
The picture, however, was downloaded from the Croatian site Jutarnji.hr, and shows Slaven Bilic after the game against Turkey. The mistake was probably made because the Macedonian work ‘utrinski’ and the Croatian ‘jutarnji’ have the same meaning (of the morning), and probably journalists, graphics and editors have not been following the Read the full story

First of all i apologise about the last post Mourinho sings to Sven, The post was accidentally deleted.
We have come to the part of the year where decisions have to be made, where most clubs are analysing what went well and what when wrong over the past few months and making crucial decisions.
Do we spend millions to try and get success and but risk financial difficulty if it fails or spend less and pray for Premier League survival? Sell your best player, or bring in more? For the also-rans in the league, make a determined effort to end the monopoly of the ‘big four’ or settle for second best?? do we take it for granted that the Injured players from 07/08 return and bring us Read the full story
Davide Lanzafame 21 yrs old and Under 21 player for Italy, is expected to be loaned out to West Ham next season.
the Juventus ace has been on loan to Bari and has scored 10 goals in 33 games.
In early April 2008, Bari coach Antonio Conte compared him to possibly reaching levels in his football career like Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
