West Ham United V’s Everton (A Hole in Midfield)

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Not quite the results West Ham deserved in their last 5 games considering how well the Hammers played, but unfortunately mistakes are made and points are lost, but the Hammers could turn it around by learning from mistakes and continue playing attacking football the Zola way, The return of Parker will be great news for the Hammers.

Everton is not part of West Ham’s difficult run of games. Everton are a good team though, Cahill and Arteta are doubtful for the West Ham game due to injury together with Fellaini will leave Everton’s midfield wide open, so West Ham definitely have a chance to keep it interesting. Everton will be playing with confidence after 2 x 1-0 wins. this match go either way.

An article was written recently on COYI regarding the fan trouble at the Hull game where up to 100 fans were involved in a skirmish at Parkers Pub in Hull.

A West Ham Fan  from Essex has been banned from all matches for 3 years by Hull Magistrates Court and has to surrender his passport before any England international games are to be played.

Over 100 Hooligans cause Mayhem in Hull

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Groups of hooligans are being traced via CCTV footage because of incidents before & after Sundays game against Hull City.

100’s of rival fans clashed in Walton Street on Sunday and supposedly 40 of these were West Ham fans, 3 Hull men were arrested and 1 of these arrested was for breaching his court order banning him from football matches.

It is believed by police that the incidents were pre planned and the meet was to happen at Parkers pub in Albany Road in Hull a pub that is not checked by police during matches.

PC Corcoran told the Media:

“Our resources were tied up in pubs where we believe there is the potential for trouble on match days,”

“Some of our officers carried hand-held cameras. There is footage of the incident at Parkers.

“There is also CCTV footage and the force helicopter has some good-quality footage.

“We will be going through the evidence and anyone involved can expect a knock on their door.”

“How did the larger group of West Ham hooligans know that these Hull City hooligans were in Parkers? We think it was organised.

“All is takes is one phone call. They may even have known each other from attending England matches or possibly through a friend.”

PC Corcoran went on to say that his Officers were badly treated by the people in Parkers pub when bottles and glasses were thrown at them.
Truth be known, that was probably just the regulars who threw the glasses.

I went to the wrong Match! West Ham v Bolton

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Reading some of the rags makes me wonder if I watched the same match as the persons who wrote the articles.

The Independent headlines: West Ham 1 Bolton 3: Error-strewn Green hands Bolton an easy victory. Hardly an easy victory, West Ham dominated most of the game with some fine passing football and possession, I must have missed that match!

Fair enough Green did make a couple of blunders which in his case is very rare, we usually only see those kind of mistakes made my David James and without those blunders Bolton would probably not have won.

Zola was right when he shouted to lads on the pitch “Chin Up” losing confidence after a goal is what West Ham is renown for.

Green was not the only person who made mistakes, Noble and Faubert lacked concentration and led to some silly passes to the opposition.

Overall i was pleased with the style skill we played, Zola promised us entertaining football and that,s what we got, as Zola said ” Winning every game is not important, its not War, but entertaining football is” and to me, entertainment is what i want each season when i pay for my season ticket.

Great game, well done to Bolton but hardly an easy win.

West Ham Vs Bolton: Live Streaming and Team News

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

West Ham have won both their games under new manager Gianfranco Zola. The former Chelsea player will try to extend the run when they host Bolton.

A win today will see West Ham go into 1st place, well at least for 90 minutes until Chelsea and Liverpool finish.

West Ham news: Craig Bellamy is pushing for a starting place in the first XI, although it is likely Zola will stick to Cole and Di Michele up front. Dean Ashton is still out with an injury, as is Kieron Dyer. Zola’s concerns will mainly be the defence, conceding a goal in almost every match lately.

Bolton news: Gary Megson who spoke highly of both Zola and his predecessor Curbishley will try to win the game at Upton Park as he has lanuched a health programme at the Reebok Stadium. Matt Taylor will be back in contention despite not having played any reserve game. According to Megson, Matthew Taylor is the fittest player they have. The manager admitted Bolton have had problems winning away but will try to collect at least one point against the Londoners.

West Ham United still have the best home record in the Barclays Premier League with three wins from three and secured their first away win of the season at Craven Cottage last Saturday. Bolton, meanwhile, have the worst away record in the league - losing all three away from the Reebok Stadium.

Our bet: 3-1.

Bolton Fans show disgust at Gartside’s Claim

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

For those who read the earlier post on COYI today stating that Gartside is an absolute idiot for his claims that West Ham robbed Bolton of 3 points for fielding Tevez in the season 2006/07 game at Upton park will have noticed the comments made from various Bolton fans showing their disgust at Gartside.

1 Comment from Richie B says:

I have been a bolton fan all my life, and I have to totally agree with all the other comments. Cartside is an absolute disgrace to the club and the term “football”. Scores should be settled on the pitch, and not in boardrooms/courts where greedy chairmen look for any excuses to line their pockets with even more money. Goes to show what poor character Gartside has as he is now considering selling the club to overseas investment, even though he has spent all his “professional” life ridiculing foreign investment. Let’s hope we do are talking on the pitch this weekend, and have a good game for once.

It is good to see that the Bolton fans have far more intelligence than their chairman, and that football is for the fans and not the courts.

West Ham United v Bolton Wanderers should prove to be a great match and a win for either club will be more beneficial than a measly £700,000 would ever do.

Gartside has just made a laughing stock of Bolton

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Phil Gartside is without doubt a very sad little character for claiming his teams defeat to West Ham in the 2006/07 season cost his club £700,000 in the end of league standing.

West Ham United will of course dispute this case and hopefully make the Bolton chairman look like the idiot that he is.

Phil Gartsides said:

“There is an argument to say we can claim three points from West Ham,”

“We went down there and lost 3-1, Tevez scored two and it cost us £700,000 because that was one place in the league.

“If Sheffield United are successful and get a claim then why shouldn’t we?”

Bolton finished 7th in the league that season with a total of 56 points and that is 2 points behind Everton, now lets take Tevez out of the picture, the score stands at 1-1!! which gives Bolton 1 extra point, still finishing in 7th place.

What grounds does this Idiot have for claiming 3 points.

I guess Bolton must need the publicity, it is just a shame they never get it from the games they play.

Sunday’s match against Bolton will prove the kind of silly damage he has caused his club with such a pathetic claim.

Change of Luck for Newcastle?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We at West Ham have sympathy for the Newcastle fans and wish them a speedy recovery from the disappointing behaviour of their owner Mr Ashley.

But whilst wishing the magpies well, we do hope their luck does not change for the better this weekend at the cost of West Ham losing a match.

Ashton will not be playing this Saturday and its 50/50 that even Bellamy could be out too, i can here the Geordie fans sighs of relief already, but could the new attacking West Ham under the guidance of Zola and Clarkey be too much for the magpies to handle? as it seems the Newcastle defence is easy to crumble under too much pressure.

West ham were much the better team last week for 70 minutes against WBA, but fatigue cost the Hammers the game in the last few minutes, Fatigue and fitness is something that Zola and Clarke have been working on with the team all week.

As much as we, the fans of West Ham United wish Newcastle the best of luck, we also hope your best luck starts on Sunday 21st.

What have i taken on with West Ham?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Di Michel

What have I taken on with west Ham? Gianfranco Zola must have had those thoughts rushing through his mind at full time.

West Ham had a day they would want to forget, as they crumbled under the pressure of a team that is among the favourites for relegation.

WBA will not have to worry about relegation if they continue to play as they did today, there passing was fairly accurate with some great offensive play.

West Ham’s new manager Gianfranco Zola watched from the stands and sometimes looked astonished at the way West Ham and especially Cole and Boa Morte fumbling around the field.

James Morrison gave WBA the start they needed but West Ham pulled back 2 goals before the break, but only to let WBA equalise with was definitely not a penalty, and then the winner late on in the 83rd minute.

Zola, should be happy with Di Michel’s performance today, but he will have plenty to do as from Monday to start making West Ham good enough to even qualify for a UEFA spot.

Kevin Keen who managed the side for the match today should not be disappointed as he only had 1 week to work with the team.

There is still hope of West Ham landing Stephen Appiah who could make a lot of difference to a team looking rather disorientated, maybe from having to stitch those awful odd colour squares on the front of the teams shirts where the XL Logo’s used to reside.

WBA v West Ham - No XL Logo on Shirts Today

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

West Ham are to play in plain shirts until we find a new sponsor. West Ham have also said that all XL signs and banners in the stadium will be removed before next weeks game at home.

BG apologised to all concerned that have suffered  with XL, i presume that includes us fans who have to wear the shirt at games with the XL logo on it.

According to reports we only recieved £2.5m of the promised £7.5m sponsor deal.

It remains unclear whether it is realistic to expect the club to have found a new sponsor for the next match - a home game against Newcastle United on September 20th - which will be new boss Gianfranco Zola’s first fixture in full charge of the first XI.

Lets hope we have found a new sponsor by then or at least put Bobby Moores charity on the shirts until we do.
