Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has mentioned in the past that if he was to move to a club in England then it would most definitely have to be a club in London.
Appiah now a free agent after Fenerbahce had earlier disputed the ruling and even warned clubs that, they will have to pay dearly if they want to sign him. But the world governing body insisted on its ruling in a press statement last week declaring the Ghana captain a free agent.
There are 3 clubs that are showing an interest in Appiah, West Ham United, Newcastle, and Boro and these clubs are reported to be sending a scout out to watch how the former Fenerbahce ace plays against Tunisia on Wednesday, a game that can be watched live on Wednesday evening from links on soccer-pages.com.
Appiah is not only a strong central midfielder and defender but can also score goals and was once wanted by Harry Redknapp for Portsmouth but the asking price was £7m a fee that Harry did not want to pay.
All 3 clubs that will view him on Wednesday will more than likely make an offer to the player after the match with West Ham more than likely and hopefully being the successful club for 2 reasons, West Ham are a London club that play the style of attacking football that Appiah loves, and also Appiah has many friends in London which includes his close friend from Chelsea and Ghanian team mate, Michael Essien.

Zola
By Thursday West Ham will announce the signings of its new Manager Gianfranco Zola and the sensational signing of the Stephen Appiah (The Tornado)
Gianfranco Zola has been hinted by Kia Joorabchian to be the choice that the West Ham board have made , Kia Joorabchian who is acting as an official advisor to the Upton Park board in the hunt for a new manager, He said to the Media:
“Zola has got a lot of experience in the Premier League as a player and he has built a big reputation in Italy with the U21s,” It is also well known that Zola is Nani and Duxbury’s favourite to succeed Curbishley

Appiah
Stephen Appiah the Black Stars captain flew to London after the Ghana game and told KickOffGhana.com that,
“by the close of the week, I will see where I am going to play my club football.”
and the only club known to have had any talks and medical with Appiah is West Ham, Arsenal manager Wenger has and will not show interest in Appiah according to Gooner Talk because of 3rd party ownership of the player.
Appiah has made it quite clear that his dream is to play in the Premier League and in London.
West Ham are sitting in 5th place and only 1 point behind the leaders Chelsea, the next 5 games will be the big test for West Ham and its new manager and by the end of October we might even see West Ham above Chelsea, how ironic would that be for Zola.
Chelsea fans are excited about West Ham signing Zola but only because they believe if he succeeds in getting West Ham to Europe by at least a 5th place finish, then they will be wanting Zola for manager in the near future, and who can blame them, we have the same passion for Bilic.

Mancio
The agent of Roberto Mancini has hinted that Mancini is interested in the vacant job at West Ham.
Giorgio De Giorgis said:
“Roberto will not talk to any other club before he sorts out his contract situation with Inter”
Mancini was sacked by Inter at the end of last season but is yet to legally resolve his contract with the club.
Giorgio then said
“Mancini would relish the chance to ply his trade in the Premier League and really likes England and London in particular - that is something that he has never denied”
Mancini at present is on vacation on his Yatch and it is rumoured he will be flying to London in the next few days to talk to West Ham.
An overwheming majority of West Ham fans are urging the board to employ Mancini and preferably with Di Canio as Assistant Manager.
Newcastle are also showing an interest in Mancini.

Lord Mayor of London Boris Johnson is understandably concerned that after the 2012 Olympics that it would be uneconomical to still use the Olympic stadium for athletics, and renting the £700m to Leyton Orient would hardly be worthwhile.
Boris is keen that it should go to a Premier League club, and is hoping West Ham who are the only candidates for serious tenancy will come forward and start talks.
In the Guardian Boris has said that he thinks that the usages after the games for athletics may not transpire.
I am sure many fans would rather stay at the Boleyn Ground than move to a stadium with a running track, and I would definitely hope that BG considers expanding Upton Park as Newcastle did, there must be a way of redeveloping the east stand to add 15,000 more seats.

Hopes are by end of OCT 2008 we are and should be in the top 6, the first 8 games will probably be the easiest we will have all season, and we should accumulate around 18+ pts by OCT 19th.
More hopes are that Curbishley has finally got the team all fit and ready to conquer every game we play, injuries in the team has always been his excuse for failure, lets hope he gets his dream and prove us all wrong.
Hopes are, the red tops get off our backs and only write how amazing the West Ham squad are.
Lets hope LBM and Cole are leading goal scorers by Xmas, and the fans are singing Boa Mortes name with praise.
Joys are we finish the season in 6th place and Spurs are relegated along with Newcastle and Wigan.
More Joys would be that West Ham have decided to redevelop The Boleyn Ground to make it into a 50,000 seater stadium to be ready by start of season 2010
This is my hopes and Joys for this season, its more like a dream, what’s yours?

Ok so everybody that knows about football knows that we at West Ham have a serious bad habit!
No its not buying over-aged crocks from Newcastle and Arsenal, Our very serious bad habit i
s selling our Academy and Youth players to the likes of Spurs and Man Utd.
Well my friends, a new era is born, and from what we believe to be true is, NO MORE will we sell what will be the future of West Ham and dare i say England too.
Freddie Sears, top agents in the football world praise him as the man who will 1 day win the World Cup for England, James Tomkins, Jack Collison, Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson, Balint Bajner and Marek Stech are all praised as the future for West Ham to be leaders in the English Premier League as well as Europe.
Arsenal are always slagged of for the amount of foreign players that play every Saturday, the truth is, they are what every club needs to look at for guidance when it comes to nurturing young talent.
I know this post is going to get slated by Hammer and Arsenal fans for 2 reasons, 1 is for believing West Ham can do better than what we are doing and the 2nd is for praising Arsenal.
Like i give a SH*T.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is reportedly interested in Anton Ferdinand. The West Ham United defender
has been linked with a move away from the club for over two months; the Black Cats are set to make a last ditch effort to bring the England Under-21 defender to Wearside.
Sunderland will be expected to pay in the region of around £7 million for Ferdinand, who had been hotly tipped to join Tottenham earlier in the summer.
It does now appear that Sunderland have jumped to the head of the queue, after Spurs apparently opted to sign midfielders as opposed to defensive signings.
Newcastle’s Keegan will also be monitoring Ferdinand’s position very closely, and are expected to make an offer for the player very soon which may outbid the Black Cats.

Alan Curbishley speaks out about the future for West Ham and his squad.

His reply to was there any bids from Aston Villa and Newcastle for Anton Ferdinand and Turkish giants Galatasaray and Manchester City for Lucas Neill and was he looking to sell them, was simply:
NO NO NO NO
Curbishley has been ordered to cut the squad from 42 to 27, finding clubs for that many players is quite a task on its own, so when asked about his plans to bring in more players, his reply was:
“West Ham were crippled by injuries for large parts of last season, with a number of key players missing chunks of the campaign.
After so many injuries last season with key players such as Faubert, Bellamy, Dyer etc etc Curbishley is happy to have what he calls his OLD/NEW signings, and any new signings will be dealt with at the right pace, Curbishley said :
“I think everybody is jumping up and down and coming to their own conclusions. Let’s just wait and see what happens to us.
“I did say at the end of the season that it was the size of the squad which held us together, because we had tremendous (injury) problems.
“There’s a long way to go before the window closes and we want to improve the squad.
“I feel that if I get my best XI out there we’ve got a decent side. I want to add a little bit more to that to get a bit more competition and we’re working very hard to do that.”
Asked if he was happy with result 4-2 from the game with Hampton and Richmond Borough. his answer was:
“Of course i am, this was a friendly match to test our teams fitness and style, some of these players we put out today have barely played any games together.
“Our main concern with friendlies is unnecessary injuries and i was very pleased that none occurred tonight.
I have to agree with Curbs, last night was just a friendly and more important, no injuries to our versatile players.
Sundays game should be interesting and more demanding on the West Ham squad. The MLS All Stars game next Thursday will be played on a plastic pitch, which when wet can be very slippery and prone to causing many injuries.
And well done WHUFC.com for putting our minds at rest regarding Robert Green.
