Zola: Everything will be Better! Will Man Utd Suffer?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Gianfranco Zola speaking about his game with Man Utd tonight is as disappointed as any West Ham fan at losing the last 3 games but is not disappointed with the performance of his players and we have to admit, against Arsenal a majority of the game, we were actually on par.

Zola believes West Ham will climb back up the table and compete for a European place in the months to come, he said to the Media about tonight’s game against Man Utd:

“It’s never a good time to play them but we have to play them. We do respect them but we don’t fear them,”

he added.

“We are going to go there and play our game and we are going to try to win the game as we always try to do that. It’s a difficult moment but at this moment I’m sure the good teams come out.”

Zola knows that West Ham United could have possibly won 2 of the last 3 games but lost to silly mistakes, but praised the excellent fast flowing passing skills of his players, he said :

“I feel really bad about this because it never happened to me that I saw a team playing that well and then not getting any points for three matches but I know that in football things can change quickly,”

he added:

“We just need a game to get it right and then everything will be better.

“It’s a good starting point to play well, results are a consequence. That’s my philosophy and I will pursue it.”

Zola will have to do without Cole in his strike force tonight, his options are limited, so this could be where we see Sears play a some part of tonight’s game.

It is possible for West Ham United to beat Man Utd, it surely will be a game Man Utd will be taking very seriously if they watched the video of West Ham v Arsenal last Sunday, I am pretty sure that Zola will want a win and prove that his tactics are paying off, but a draw will without doubt please many Hammers fans and upset many Man Utd fans.

Italy under 21’s send your CV’s now for January Transfer Window

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

There are many good points about Zola being our new manager, probably the best will be the likelihood of buying some of Italy’s finest under 21 players in the January transfer window.

An interesting and slightly funny article in the guardian said:

The first thing Gianfranco Zola will do as West Ham manager is to find a comfy chair for his office. The second thing he’ll do is sign Italian U-21 player Francesco Bolzoni, a player whose footballing talent is so pure they actually use it to baptise babies in some parts of Naples. Bolzoni will cost around £7m.

Well lets hope that is true, i would seriously like to see quality Italian youngsters joining up with our players like Sears, Tomkins, Hines, Noble, Collison,etc..

The Wanderers lose to Freddie Sears

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

A West Ham XI played behind closed doors yesterday in a friendly game against Wycombe Wanderers.

Freddie Sears scored the only goals in which West Ham won 2-0 against Wycombe Wanderers, The West Ham team also played James Tomkins Nigel Quashie and luis Boa Morte.

Sears and Tomkins will be hoping to get a chance to play some 1st team matches this season and hopefuly next season to start being regulars for the team.

Sears understands that it will take time and some experience under his belt before he becomes West Ham’s number 1 striker, but with his skills and talent, i could say that would be very soon.

Is this for Real?

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Again it seems we are going back to our old ways, selling academy boys to cash in on what is supposed to be a good deal for Ferdinand.
Rumours say that Sunderland have made a bid of £6m, hardly worth it for such a good defender and a potential international again one day.

It seems to us all that promises at West Ham mean nothing, a new or redeveloped stadium, no chance! never to cash in on academy players again, no chance!

I can guarantee as soon as Sears is a 1st team international he will be gone too.

Where does it end? when does it stop? Ferdinand is a solid good defender, and we need to keep him, and why is it that we never keep an Academy player until he 30+ and then sell him on.

A forward importance

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

If ever there was any more proof of the need of another high profile forward, then it’s now.

During last nights friendly against Ipswich Craig Bellamy was taken off limping in the first half, leaving Hines to replace him, and no doubt making many fans wonder if Curbishley is just going to stick with what he has up front.

At this level this may seem ok for Hines to come on to replace Bellamy, but he, as with Sears are still learning their trade in the premiership, and Cole for all his efforts is not a goal merchant. Which leaves us with a problem, and it’s one that Curbs has to address before the season kicks off…We need another proven forward, not just for starting, but for cover aswell.

Arsenal Emulation - About time Too!!

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Ok so everybody that knows about football knows that we at West Ham have a serious bad habit!

No its not buying over-aged crocks from Newcastle and Arsenal, Our very serious bad habit is selling our Academy and Youth players to the likes of Spurs and Man Utd.

Well my friends, a new era is born, and from what we believe to be true is, NO MORE will we sell what will be the future of West Ham and dare i say England too.

Freddie Sears, top agents in the football world praise him as the man who will 1 day win the World Cup for England, James Tomkins, Jack Collison, Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson, Balint Bajner and Marek Stech are all praised as the future for West Ham to be leaders in the English Premier League as well as Europe.

Arsenal are always slagged of for the amount of foreign players that play every Saturday, the truth is, they are what every club needs to look at for guidance when it comes to nurturing young talent.

I know this post is going to get slated by Hammer and Arsenal fans for 2 reasons, 1 is for believing West Ham can do better than what we are doing and the 2nd is for praising Arsenal.

Like i give a SH*T.

Its fantastic to see Bellamy back to his old form scoring 2 goals, 1st was in the 3rd minute and the second was in the 42nd, a few possibilities to score more came and went.

Peterborough a recently proted side from League 2 to League 1, have a great deal to be proud of even though there was 9000 empty seats, their player George Boyd was named man of the match.

Zamora,Pantsil: Fulham talks

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

It has been confirmed by West Ham that Fulham have made an approach for Zamora and Pantsil. The paiFulham FCr have been given permission to have talks with the club.

I’m not one for speculating, but if Zamora is to be allowed to go, this leaves us with Ashton and Bellamy in the frontline, with Cole and Sears on the bench. My point is, that should he go, does this mean the hammers have a striker lined up to replace him.

Regarding Pantsil, this could be another one who they just want to move on, but not sure about what else could be behind this. All I know is that if we let Zamora go, surely it’s with a replacemnt in mind. Because, and I mean no disrespect to Cole, he is not exactly goal scoring back up. Zamora is also a grafter on the pitch as is Cole, but both are not prolific up front. Young Freddy Sears will make more appearances, but is still getting use to the top flight.

So with the high chance of Zamora moving on, and Pantsil also, where does that leave us, especially in the striking department. We can’t just have the two main scorers in Ashton and Bellamy, we need solid back up.

Rams to the Slaughter!

Hammers young Trio Freddie Sears, Jack Collison & James Tomkins maybe unleashed against relegated Derby.
When asked if the Trio could all start on saturday against the Rams, Curbishely explained:

“The points are vital but so is the development of one or two players … I was very unhappy with what happened last week at Bolton. We gave Jack Collison his debut and we turned in a dreadful
