WHUFC Director Quits!

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Non-executive director Mike Lee has quit his job on the Hammers board but will still carry on his role as director of communications.

This news will come as a shock to people that know Mike Lee’s background from a previous article:

Mike Lee O.B.E. (Non Executive Director of WHUFC)

When West Ham was first thought of as a club to purchase by BG, he put the proposition to Eggert, who sent 2 teams out to investigate West Ham’s financial status and to finalise a deal, 1 of the teams was Vero Communications LTD which is owned by Mike Lee OBE.

Mike Lee OBE of Vero Communications Ltd is now a director at West Ham and is also an Advisor in the world of communications and sport (UEFA -Premier League - and Olympics 2012) with his experience and contacts Mike will be a key figure that will help to develop the club to its next stage.

Rumours in the media stating that BG is on the verge of selling the club may be true, with Mike Lee stepping down from the board could be the sign of something big about to happen at Upton Park besides the measly £1.9m sponsorship deal from SBOBet.com

Zola’s: Attack Plan v Arsenal

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Gianfranco Zola’s West Ham United take on Arsenal in the Premier League at Upton Park on Sunday.

His plan to play offensive will not change, he said this about Arsene Wenger:

“He is one of the managers I admire the most … he is one of the managers I look up to. I like the way he manages the team and the way his team play. In England, Arsenal probably belongs to the top three or four teams and they are a very young team and can only get better and better and can achieve a lot.

“We are going to try to attack. If you sit and wait they will find a way to beat you anyway as they are very good. The danger can come from so many players. What teams like Arsenal don’t like is when someone tries to hit them back. We will try to play our game and see if they are better than us. Simple as that.”

The Hammers go into this clash with Arsenal hoping to get back to winning ways after defeat in their last two matches against Hull City and Bolton Wanderers. West Ham are currently 8th in the Premiership, but have not won since a 2-1 victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage in September.

Arsene Wenger’s team will go into this London derby full of confidence, having beaten Everton 3-1 last weekend at the Emirates Stadium and humbling Fenerbahce 5-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday. Wenger will want his side to come away with all three points in what has been a tricky tie for the Gunners in recent times.

Zola will be without striker Dean Ashton (trigonum syndrome) as well as defenders Jonathan Spector (thigh) and Danny Gabbidon (groin), with long-term absentee Kieron Dyer (broken leg) also to miss the visit of Arsenal.

Arsenal are set to welcome back defenders Kolo Toure and William Gallas, who have both recovered from injury, while Bacary Sagna (ankle) is not quite ready to return against the East London side. Eduardo (broken leg) and Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) are still on the side lines at the Emirates, though Eduardo should resume full training soon.

West Ham United:: (from) Green, Neill, Ilunga, Lopez, Parker, Bellamy, Cole, Boa Morte, Upson, Collins, Faubert, Behrami, Stokes, Walker, Lastuvka, Tristan, Davenport, Reid, Bowyer, Tomkins, Collison, Di Michele, Sears, Stech, Eyjolfsson, Hines, Jeffrey, Widdowson

Arsenal: (from) Almunia, Clichy, Gallas, Toure, Djourou, Fabregas, Walcott, Denilson, Diaby, Ramsey, Nasri, Adebayor, van Persie, Bendtner, Eboue, Vela, Wilshere, Song, Silvestre, Fabianski, Mannone, Bischoff, Coquelin, Gibbs, Hoyte, Lansbury, Merida, Ogogo, Randall, Simpson, Frimpong.

A game West Ham need to win at home or Zola may face some critiscism from the fans and press as West Ham will slowly slide futher down the league.

Here we go Again! The Magic Roundabout

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

West Ham are on the verge of playing their 8th game and could be in 4th place by 5pm today.

Etherington plays his 150th game for the Hammers, and Mullins Plays his 200th game.

Some great headlines for the Red Tops to use for this weekend, but what headlines do they use?

HAMMERS RESCUE HITS TROUBLE - News of the World. Evidently West Ham have no idea who their owner is and maybe it is now the British government, The Sub Header reads:

A £125MILLION rescue of stricken West Ham is in danger of collapse because no one knows who now controls the teetering Upton Park club.

And this Headline.

£2.5m SPUR FOR PARKER - The People. Now this is the funniest, West Ham are so desperate for money that we will bend over backwards to accept an amazing sum of £2.5m from Spurs for Parker, The sub Header reads:

Tottenham are ready to take advantage of a West Ham ‘fire sale’ with a £2.5m bid for Scott Parker.

Believe me, even the Spurs fans will be laughing at that story.

Some facts for the Red Tops,

(1) West Ham are owned by WH Holdings, which is based in Britain and 100% a British company, this is a British Company and not Icelandic.

(2) West Ham have no intentions of selling players that are necessary to take the club to European status, Bonuses and awards for finishing in the top 6 far out weighs the measly sums made up for players transfers by the media.

Troubled we are? YES. Desperate we are? NO
At 5pm today you will definitely have a better story.

Fire Sale: Upson £5m - Parker £3m - Ashton £7.5m to Tottenham

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I Know, its hilarious, and only idiots would even consider these sort of prices for 3 of West Ham United star players.

Who could these idiots be your wondering? Its Tottenham fans!  who seem to think because of West Ham’s plight we will be selling off our star players Mathew Upson (England International) for £5m This Website quoted:

Many in the game believe Matthew Upson would jump at the chance to play for Spurs, despite having to battle for places with club skipper Ledley King, Carling Cup hero Jonathan Woodgate and impressive youngster Michael Dawson. The defender played for Birmingham before joining West Ham in a £6mil deal, which could still rise to £7.5mil depending on club appearances.

Scott Parker £3m this Website Quoted:

Scott Parker would almost certainly make the small trip across London to join the Spurs after being a childhood fan. And after seeing Tom Huddlestone, Luka Modric and Jermaine Jenas all struggle in the middle of the park for Tottenham, he would surely be given a chance at Spurs.

Dean Ashton £7.5m, This Website Quoted:

Less clear is Dean Ashton’s possible future. Spurs have been crying out for a striker this season, with neither Darren Bent or Roman Pavlyuchenko performing well. However Ashton is injury-prone; thus, Spurs would probably refrain from offering him the money he is currently on at Upton Park.

All i can think of is these Spurs fans are crying out for some kind of importance and ok maybe the press we have been having lately is not all rosey but at least its not how sad it is to be the worst club in the Premier League.

Maybe the Spurs fans should read THIS and then THIS

West Ham Vs Bolton: Live Streaming and Team News

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

West Ham have won both their games under new manager Gianfranco Zola. The former Chelsea player will try to extend the run when they host Bolton.

A win today will see West Ham go into 1st place, well at least for 90 minutes until Chelsea and Liverpool finish.

West Ham news: Craig Bellamy is pushing for a starting place in the first XI, although it is likely Zola will stick to Cole and Di Michele up front. Dean Ashton is still out with an injury, as is Kieron Dyer. Zola’s concerns will mainly be the defence, conceding a goal in almost every match lately.

Bolton news: Gary Megson who spoke highly of both Zola and his predecessor Curbishley will try to win the game at Upton Park as he has lanuched a health programme at the Reebok Stadium. Matt Taylor will be back in contention despite not having played any reserve game. According to Megson, Matthew Taylor is the fittest player they have. The manager admitted Bolton have had problems winning away but will try to collect at least one point against the Londoners.

West Ham United still have the best home record in the Barclays Premier League with three wins from three and secured their first away win of the season at Craven Cottage last Saturday. Bolton, meanwhile, have the worst away record in the league - losing all three away from the Reebok Stadium.

Our bet: 3-1.

Bolton Fans show disgust at Gartside’s Claim

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

For those who read the earlier post on COYI today stating that Gartside is an absolute idiot for his claims that West Ham robbed Bolton of 3 points for fielding Tevez in the season 2006/07 game at Upton park will have noticed the comments made from various Bolton fans showing their disgust at Gartside.

1 Comment from Richie B says:

I have been a bolton fan all my life, and I have to totally agree with all the other comments. Cartside is an absolute disgrace to the club and the term “football”. Scores should be settled on the pitch, and not in boardrooms/courts where greedy chairmen look for any excuses to line their pockets with even more money. Goes to show what poor character Gartside has as he is now considering selling the club to overseas investment, even though he has spent all his “professional” life ridiculing foreign investment. Let’s hope we do are talking on the pitch this weekend, and have a good game for once.

It is good to see that the Bolton fans have far more intelligence than their chairman, and that football is for the fans and not the courts.

West Ham United v Bolton Wanderers should prove to be a great match and a win for either club will be more beneficial than a measly £700,000 would ever do.

Mysterious Bid For West Ham United!

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

It may be rubbish but i read the Guardian often for sports rather than the Disney rag The Mail, and found an article by Matt Scott stating that a bid was made for WHUFC and was flatly turned down by Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson.

If it is true, then it is good news that Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is showing such enthusiasm about the club and especially at a time where lawsuits are trying unsuccessfully to damage our club thats sits in 5th place and maybe 2nd or 3rd place come Sunday afternoon.

Article from the Guardian:

The chill felt in Iceland over the banking crisis - a nation where the bank rate has hit 15.5% to curb runaway inflation - has led to a bid for West Ham United. It is not even two years since the club was taken over by the billionaire banker Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson. But there are many buyers in the market for Premier League clubs and one thought they could sniff out a bargain at Upton Park. Yet the Icelander gave them the cold shoulder, insisting his club is not for sale; after all the tribulations of the Tevez trial, Gudmundsson wants to enjoy his football for a while.

Does anybody know who the mysterious bidder was?

West Ham Sponsors should be queing up!

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

With so much Media attention each week and the fact at present we are a top 6 club, plus West Ham star in more movies than any other football league club so there should be a queue of sponsors just itching to have their company logo on the clubs shirts.

Maybe the PR people at Upton Park should get their finger out and reap the benefits of such media domination at the moment.

One more thing, why cant Landsbanki (Bank owned by BG & Son) sponsor us, or is it a breach of FA rules for a Owner to sponsor his own club?

West Ham beat Arsenal Portsmouth & Newcastle to win 2 HOT Signings but makes Chelsea Fans Excited!

Zola

By Thursday West Ham will announce the signings of its new Manager Gianfranco Zola and the sensational signing of the Stephen Appiah (The Tornado)

Gianfranco Zola has been hinted by Kia Joorabchian to be the choice that the West Ham board have made ,  Kia Joorabchian who is acting as an official advisor to the Upton Park board in the hunt for a new manager, He said to the Media:

“Zola has got a lot of experience in the Premier League as a player and he has built a big reputation in Italy with the U21s,” It is also well known that Zola is Nani and Duxbury’s favourite to succeed Curbishley

Appiah

Stephen Appiah the Black Stars captain flew to London after the Ghana game and told KickOffGhana.com that,

“by the close of the week, I will see where I am going to play my club football.”

and the only club known to have had any talks and medical with Appiah is West Ham, Arsenal manager Wenger has and will not show interest in Appiah according to Gooner Talk because of 3rd party ownership of the player.

Appiah has made it quite clear that his dream is to play in the Premier League and in London.

West Ham are sitting in 5th place and only 1 point behind the leaders Chelsea, the next 5 games will be the big test for West Ham and its new manager and by the end of October we might even see West Ham above Chelsea, how ironic would that be for Zola.

Chelsea fans are excited about West Ham signing Zola but only because they believe if he succeeds in getting West Ham to Europe by at least a 5th place finish, then they will be wanting Zola for manager in the near future, and who can blame them, we have the same passion for Bilic.
