Carlton Cole has admitted he regrets missing out on playing for his fathers national team Nigeria.
In his interview with BBC Sports, Cole who was invited to the join Super Eagles during the first round of the qualifiers to the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup caused stir in Nigerian disclosed that he would have loved to wear the green & white jersey.
Cole said:
“I was really daft, My dad is from Nigeria, I would have loved to play for Nigeria but it was not to be because I was not eligible. I’ve played for England U-21 in a competitive competition and captained the team. Honestly, it was hard for me when I got to know”.
“I was disappointed I couldn’t play for my dad’s country, but these things happen in football. Right now, I’m focussing on my career at West Ham and see where that gets me”
“Honestly, I wish I was there but they won’t need me. I always wish them best of luck, the Nigerian team, I know all the players there. It’s a good job if they can get to the World Cup and make a massive impact.”
Cole has recently found new form at West Ham under the watchful eye of Zola and Clarke and could one day and fulfil his true destiny and that is as an English Player playing for England.

Tottenham fans were hoping that West Ham United star Slaven Bilic would come to the rescue of the bottom of the table club who have only succeeded in gaining 2 points from 8 matches.
Bilic told 5 Live:
“I’ve been linked with many clubs in England and all I can say is that it is flattering.
“But I have my job with Croatia and that’s all I’m concentrating on.”
Bilic rejected his beloved West Ham’s plea to join them because he wanted to take his National team to the World Cup and win it but then admitted he would 1 day love to manage the club he adores.
The Spurs fans see Bilic as the perfect replacement for Ramos because of his influence on 2 of their star players Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka and the passion that he sends to the Fans and players alike, very much like Gianfranco Zola does for West ham United
Bilic went on to say:
“It’s hard to believe but a lot of good teams have been in the same position,”
“When something goes wrong, and then you get injures, red cards and bad luck, it’s frustrating.
“I know the situation they are but I’m sure it is going to get better. It’s a massive club and they are going to come back.”
As an outsider and West Ham fan i believe the Spurs problems lay with the players and not the Manager, these players need to gel together and predict each others movements on the field, also the language barrier is cause for concern too.

Slaven Bilic
Wednesday’s match
Croatia v England could be a disaster for Slaven Bilic.
If Croatia lose to England, Bilic will be upset but not as upset as the Croatian FA and that could be good news for West Ham.
The Croatian FA are already unhappy that Bilic will be having talks with Nani and Duxbury sometime before or after the World Cup qualifier.
Why has Bilic agreed to a meeting? and why have West Ham not given up on Bilic like they have Mancini, i beleive that Bilic has told his agent he wants the Job but will not say so publicly before such an important match that could upset his players, It would be easy for him to say “NO” and “go away” to the West Ham press gang, but he has not and will be having talks.
If Bilic did leave the Croatian national squad and joined West Ham would he be a traitor to his country, i dont think so, if he is then does that make half a million Croatian’s in this country traitors too, of course not, like Bilic they all are after a better success in life, which Croatia did not offer.
It will be a disaster for Bilic to lose to England but hopefully success for England and West Ham.

Ok so everybody that knows about football knows that we at West Ham have a serious bad habit!
No its not buying over-aged crocks from Newcastle and Arsenal, Our very serious bad habit i
s selling our Academy and Youth players to the likes of Spurs and Man Utd.
Well my friends, a new era is born, and from what we believe to be true is, NO MORE will we sell what will be the future of West Ham and dare i say England too.
Freddie Sears, top agents in the football world praise him as the man who will 1 day win the World Cup for England, James Tomkins, Jack Collison, Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson, Balint Bajner and Marek Stech are all praised as the future for West Ham to be leaders in the English Premier League as well as Europe.
Arsenal are always slagged of for the amount of foreign players that play every Saturday, the truth is, they are what every club needs to look at for guidance when it comes to nurturing young talent.
I know this post is going to get slated by Hammer and Arsenal fans for 2 reasons, 1 is for believing West Ham can do better than what we are doing and the 2nd is for praising Arsenal.
Like i give a SH*T.

by Ian Salisbury
I’m not sure what everyone’s opinion of Dean Ashton’s short appearance for England was, personally I thought he tried hard, but looked like a ‘fish out of water’. Up against poor opposition he tried to play the ‘target man role’ and got on the end of a number of through balls, holding it up and bringing others into play. His one major shot he could have perhaps done better with, but generally he tried to make space for himself and around the box. To be fair the crosses that were intended for him weren’t up to the best quality, and I hoped that Capello might give him longer to prove Read the full story

Well Well its all about Italians this week.
Now it seems one of the worlds finest managers wants to work as a Premier League Manager, I know a position he could have!!
Italy’s World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi has refused to rule out a move to the Premier League at some point in the future.
Lippi, who has been out of work since leading Italy to success in the 2006 World Cup, has been continually linked with a move to England.
The former Juventus chief is believed to be keen on a return to management and admits he would be interested in a switch to the Premier League
“It [working in the Premier League] could be an interesting experience, but I can’t go knocking on the doors of clubs,” Lippi told Sky Sports News.
“If a club were to come to me, we could talk.
